5.0 out of 5 stars Great product, Bad shipping company Jan. 24 2014
By Vincent
Format:Leather Bound|Verified Purchase
This bible words to explain the great quality it has. The best, period. It will last a long time, and it wasn't made in third world country or by underpaid labor. they're this thing about making kids work hard for making books, so I'm against buying books from China because I just don't know. But this bible is printed in the Netherlands, so this is why it's that price. The quality is worth it. Now UPS is just the worst. If they do manage to find my address, my books are damaged. And the other half of the time they just can't find my address. I live in the middle of Quebec it's impossible not to find it. Once they left my package in the open on a rainy night. So I've come to stop using Amazon for Christian literature, and go to christianbookdotcom. They use the USPS services and it's much better.

I consider this a great way to read the Bible on the go. I love using my Kindle and this Bible comes in very handy as I travel or am waiting somewhere. I just love the Word of God. It speaks to me and is my guide and my helper on my way to heaven. I have found this translation good to read.

I was really looking forward to using this as a preaching bible. My plan was to write my personal notes and slight outline down the side and simply preach from it. Great in theory and would work if 1) the font print of the Bible was is almost microscopic and one can easily lose their place when reading 2) the Bible itself was slightly larger which would allow for larger font print and a bit more space to journal and even thin the book itself out a bit. Bindings do seem good so the 3/5 is really about my personal expectations and preferences and not reflective of the quality of the book which is top notch.

5.0 out of 5 stars Exactly what I wanted May 20 2014
By Hannah
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
This is the perfect Bible for carrying around with me, and it is the alternative that I was looking for to my compact French Bible. It is hardcover, with a cloth covering, and it has an elastic to keep it closed. It is small, and the writing follows suit. It is worth noting that the type may be to small for some. It includes a ribbon bookmark, and a concordance. I am pleased to have found this, and at this price!

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent translation of complex writings.... May 30 2013
By Ronald W. Maron TOP 500 REVIEWER
Format:Kindle Edition
Having read numerous translations of the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, I find this to be one of the most pleasant editions to peruse. It has none of the mind-numbing Old English gibberish nor any of the vanilla flavouring that the Living Bible seems to exude. While few of us are fluent in Greek and/or Hebrew and, being so, are unable to properly evaluate any Biblical translation as far as the accuracy of its translators from the original writings, this edition provides an opportunity for persons to read this ancient series of texts from cover to cover in an easily understandable manner. In retrospect, it matters little whether or not the text matches the exact meaning of the original writers anyway. If only a few people are going to take the time necessary to read the complete Bible from start to finish and then ultimately fail to understand the diction they are reading, why are we wasting our time publishing such a well sold but poorly read book to begin with?

Quick download and easy to read. As a agnostic, it still provides insight and a different perspective on the world. It is important to read for everyone so we may better understand the rational or lack of in the different people's choices

2.0 out of 5 stars Down Right Deceptive April 12 2015
Format:Bonded Leather|Verified Purchase
This is not, as stated, a large print Bible. The script is in fact small and to make matters worse the paper is so thin that the writing on the other side of the page is visible and obscures the text you're trying to read. As a result, it is in reality a very hard Bible to read. The concordance is so terribly small that it is literally impossible to read without the aid of a magnifying glass. What inspired the seller to call this "large print" is one of the mysteries for the ages. Actually, it's just down right deceptive.
