Book Description

Jun 24 2004 Simpsons Comic Compilations

Bart Simpson is back with another big book dedicated exclusively to that rabble-rousing, misbehaving menace – Springfield’s favourite son, Homer’s only son, and TV’s favourite son – Bart Simpson!

Following the great success of Big Book of Bart Simpson, Big Bratty Book of Bart Simpson – the third comic book compilation in a series dedicated exclusively to Bart Simpson. Join Bart Simpson and the Springfield kids in the newest collection of comics and stories filled with mistaken identities, alien abduction recipes, cereal package prizes, unrequited love, lima beans, facial hair, karaoke, cafeteria shenanigans, talk shows, mail-order brides, sidekicks gone mad, hideous monsters, balloon animals, girl scout cookies, circus popcorn, martial arts, and history gone very, very wrong. It’s all here in one ‘bratty’ book – all the chaos, commotion, and confusion that can only be caused by one uncontrollable force: Bart Simpson.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not Bratty Enough Jan 21 2011
By Pam T - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I was surprised. "The Big Bratty Book of Bart Simpson" wasn't bratty enough. Or funny enough. In fact it was not even 'okay' and didn't generate one hearty guffaw from me.

What I was expecting was either juvenile humor -- you know, potty humor or 'gross stuff' jokes -- or edgy humor, but what I found were some very old and dusty 'jokes' that were being recast as Simpson's humor, as well as some material that could only be classified as filler.

The art is good, and what you would expect if you merged The Simpsons of television fame with an old style comic book. But you can hardly expect it to carry a whole book.

My 10 year-old daughter, by the way, found the book more a curiosity than humorous, and her 8 year-old brother actually skimmed most of it -- something he would never do with Captain Underpants.

If I was to try to estimate who the best audience would be for this book, I'd say it's likely to appeal to younger Middle-grade boys.

3.0 out of 5 stars Big Bratty Bart:Issues 9-12 of Bart Simpson comics Aug 6 2008
A Kid's Review - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Big bratty book of Bart: only 3 stars. The stories in this collection are to short and pretty dumb. The rare longer stories makes up for the rest of them, but overall this collection is just O.K. Comics (and puzzles) in this volume include:O Bart where art thou?(4 out of 5) A chair of ones own,(3 out of 5) Bart's nasty shirt(2 out of 5), Cooking with Kang and Kodos(2 out of 5), Prize collection(3 out of 5), Cyrano de Bart(4 out of 5), Hill of beans(5 out of 5), Bartology 101(1 out of 5), Bart's beard(5 out of 5), Snow brawl(3 out of 5), Of mice and menace(1 out of 5), Lunch pales(1 out of 5), The madness of Milhouse(5 out of 5), From Lichenslava with love(5 out of 5), Tango tangle(4 out of 5), Bartzilla(3 out of 5), Balloon payment(5 out of 5), An anime among us(1 out of 5), Taming your wild child(5 out of 5), Bart's anagrams(2 out of 5), Scheme supreme(3 out 5), and Bart Fink and the mighty Mississip(2 out of 5). A collection only worth buying used. Grade: C
