About the Author

Leslie Patricelli lives in Seattle, Washington, with her husband, their two children, and two kitties. She sketched out her first children’s book, YUMMY YUCKY, when her then one-year-old son was putting everything in his mouth. "After hearing myself say ‘yucky!’ or ‘yummy!’ for months on end, this book seemed to write itself," she says. "Talking to and watching my young children all day gave me a voice and inspiration for these books. I write down what I say to them and what they say to me."

Great book, nice colourful simple pages. My kids love this series a lot. The sentences are very basic, have 3 words consisting of noun verb adjective, but teaches basic sentence structure and the difference in adjectives. You can make the story more animated by making your voice sound deep on the "big" pages, and making it sound weak on the "little" pages, and your kids will laugh!

This book and the rest of Leslie Patricelli's books are SO great for even the littlest "readers". My 6 month old son loves to look at the picture because they are so bold and colourful. My nephew loves the simple story. Makes a fast, easy read for beginer readers too. I will buy ALL her books!
