BIKE BOY will appeal to a special audience as is evident by not only the cover art but by the titles of the four stories graphically presented in this book from Bruno Gmünder - Bike Boy, Tender Bait, Slaves to Lust, Teasy Meat. But the audience for comic book art is growing and Zack (the moniker used by the Swiss born Oliver Frey) is one of the reasons. He is a master craftsman as far as illustration art is concerned and he is not afraid to be blunt and seductive in his publications. Of note, the very popular television series both first in the United Kingdom and subsequently in the United States - 'Queer as Folk' - was in great part due to his inspiration! His art is seen in magazine publications throughout Europe, and in part because of the sophisticated backing by Bruno Gmünder Publishing, his work is popular in the United States - such as the very popular Meatmen series of books.
Though these four stories are raw and focused on gratification, they are presented with a keen sense of humor and tongue in cheek twists that make them a resource for students in illustrative art to discover how far illustration can succeed in the media. Presented in comic book style the characters are well painted, highly descriptive of a wide number of encounters, and designed to propel the reader through the imagery to the end point of each story. All types are here as the titles of the four sections suggest. As the header on the back cover suggests 'Plunge into a world of graphic stories, where hot guys get more sexy fun and games than they ever hoped for..!' This book is directed toward the audience that appreciates the art of comic book illustration as well as the audience that looks forward to the suggestive pleasures of Zack's art!
