Not for Beginners,
By
This review is from: Billy Blanks:This Is Tae Bo (DVD)
This is the first workout DVD I have ever bought and it is not for beginners. My bad for not doing enough research. I do the routine mostly in half time and work up a great sweat but some portions are so fast and out of control I have to just move from side to side to keep with it and not quit. Needless to say I feel a little inadequate but I will not give up. Billy gets a little annoying with his incessant blabbing about how he created Taebo and the blonde lady in the blue shirt drives me nuts with all her screaming "HEY" over and over again. I do think he could have done a little better in warm up and cool down but again, that could just be the beginner in me. Billy is very encouraging, he just needs to shut up sometimes and remember he isn't doing an info commercial and people will be watching this over and over again. I hope to get better with practice, as it is fun and I feel it the next day. Great workout for advanced fitness levels, but I certainly won't be able to do this workout more than once a week due to not only the difficulty but the annoying blabbing. I just ordered a couple of Latin Dance workouts from Amazon. Hopefully those will be more my speed.

NOT THE BEST,
By
This review is from: Billy Blanks:This Is Tae Bo (DVD)
I've been doing Tae Bo 3 times a week for the last year and I love it. I started with the old cassettes, then moved to Tae Bo Cardio from 2003, until that DVD stopped playing. My friend gave me this one and I was stoked, but I must admit I got tired of it pretty quickly. There are three things that really bug me: first, the count for some of the combination movements is too fast, especially when it includes a kick. It"s not that I can't follow, I've been doing it for a long time, I'm used to the movements and I'm good at it. But I think kicks should be controled, not rushed. The other thing that really bugs me is Billy's long speeches. We know this is Tae Bo, we know it's the real thing... And I don't mind a bit of encouragements, but I don't need a whole speech about my self worth! And last things, he repeats the same things so many times, like "shoe shine", he says it about 20 times! It feels forced. Anyway, I 'm a Billy Blanks fan, I will be doing Tae Bo for a long time but this workout is not his best.

Billy is Back!,
By
This review is from: Billy Blanks:This Is Tae Bo (DVD)
Billy is Back...And he is going to make you work! Taebo is such a unique workout! You hit all parts of your body, toning and strengthening muscle, while amping up your heart rate with some serious cardio! As soon as you start the warm up you know that this is going to be an intense workout. This DVD was less than an hour long and after I felt great. My arms, legs and abs all felt stronger without lifting up a single dumbbell. By working in all different types of punches and kicks I didn't get bored. However, not being overly familiar with kick boxing, the first time around I did find it hard to keep up with the choreography. It was tough to follow at first, even with his slowed down intro to the new moves. Don't give up though, I tried it again, and the second time around, I was in the groove.
