I install Polygourd Purple Martin Housing Systems and have found that using the SongBird Magnet ( Forty-Three Dollars w/ FREE SHIPPING ) speeds up the colonization process dramatically. There were even some installations where, after plugging in the Magnet, Purple Martins started flying in from out of nowhere and immediately landed on the Martin Housing System. The unit's sound quality is superb and it being totally automatic and WEATHER PROOF is a bonus.

Bird-X, the manufacturer of the SongBird Magnet, had a set-back in August when their manufacturing plant in China closed its doors without telling them. Since then, we have been taking back-orders for the units. Well, today, Jan. 19, 2011, the new units finally arrived and all back orders are being filled. We apologize for any delay, but no other company even had these units just like us.Purple Martin Propagators sells the NEW SongBird Magnet PRO for only [...] with FREE SHIPPING that plays for 4 hours instead of just 2 hours on the older units. However, people who couldn't wait for the new units to get in complained enough to Amazon that they had us PERMANENTLY removed from being able to sell these units here on this site. I had read about these and was skeptical!!!!!! I put mine up on a Tuesday evening and by Thursday i had Martins flying around my houses and Gourds~~~~I now have 4 nesting pairs!!! And i trully beleive it was from the Songbird Magnet!!! Would highly recommend!!!!!
