This new avifauna covers Leicestershire and Rutland, an area with a particularly strong birding tradition. The region includes some of England's most important inland reservoirs, including the Rutland Water, which holds 10,000 wintering birds earch year.
The book presents in detail the status, distribution and past and present fortunes of all birds recorded in the area, and is illustrated throughout with attractive line drawings and a 24-page colour section.
