Features

The Gyro has a 4V MAX lithium-ion rechargeable battery capable of holding a charge for up to 18-months. The charging slot is conveniently placed on the bottom of the handle and out of the way if the user needs to charge the tool and use it at the same time.

The Gyro has the ability to operate at 180 revolutions per minute and apply 35 inches per pound in torque while screwdriving. Depending on how steep the user turns the Gyro after activating the screwdriver, the gyroscopic technology will control the speed of the screw bit. The user needs only to rotate their wrist one-quarter turn to the right for a clockwise motion or left for a counter-clockwise motion. The Gyro also has the ability to fluidly change from clockwise to counter-clockwise, or vice versa. For added functionality, the Gyro also comes equipped with a bright, white, LED light that will illuminate where the user is aiming.

Versatility

The Gyro, while simplistic and small in design, is versatile and functional in use. Although the Gyro only comes with two standard screwdriving bits, it has the ability to accept many other standard bits, making it a perfect tool for many screwdriving needs. The Gyro's small design also makes it ideal for use in tight or cramped spaces, where other larger screwdrivers may not fit. Additionally, the small size combined with its long charge time affords the user the ability to store the Gyro almost anywhere.

I am a telecom contractor and have been using this product for work. It is more effective then an drill for rack mounting units.
Will test the battery quality for sure!

Has plenty of torque. Goes into places a full sized drill won't go.
Just like falling off of a log, just lean sideways and away you go; it's as simple as that.

I've had several electric screwdrivers over the last thirty years of fixing computers. I've used each one for a bit and then gone back to a simple, light, regular screwdriver.

This one is different. Not only does it have a flashlight and an easy to control variable speed reversible bit, it also locks when you let go of the trigger. This allows you to loosen tight screws without relying on the strength of the little motor, and it also allows you to torque it tight with your bare hand and no motor involved, allowing more precise control of the torque applied.

The only improvement I can think of would be to shrink it a little, but not too much. Also the part of it that's coloured red could be a little less orangey, more reddy.

I bought two of them, one for my father and one for me. This screwdriver was at first, at least for me, a bit disconcerting, as I never used a tool that works like this before. Once I mastered the gyroscopic activation, wow, the operation of the tool became almost like a natural movement of the hand.

I am now only using it for every screwing job in the house. Don't be deceived by the size of the screwdriver, it's strong enough to unscrew the most tighten screw. And I found the small size of the tool handy, as it make it easy to carry it with you around the house. Batterie life seems so far very incredible.

The only drawback I can find on it is the lack of bits. That's why I give 4 stars because one need to buy more bits or a set of bits. I find the tool so useful now that I would use it with every type of screw, but the lack of bits puts a damper on my enthusiasm.

I originally purchased this because I needed a small power screwdriver to use around my house for normal screwdriver tasks. The gyro interface was something gimmicky that I figured taking a punt on would be worthwhile. I'm assuming that this places me firmly in the 'core customer' area on the marketing presentation for this screwdriver.

The first problem started as soon as I opened it and decided to unscrew a hinge on my fence to align it. Unfortunately for Canadians, a Robertson bit is not included, and there's no way for the screwdriver to hold onto an extra bit. I ended up purchasing a drill bit set from Canadian Tire that came with a Robertson bit that fits the chuck. Unfortunately, this means that I have to keep the bits together in a ziploc bag near the charger, and try not to lose them.

The short and wide snout of the screwdriver greatly limits its usefulness; most of the time I just end up reaching for my Dewalt power drill because it has more torque and has about the same clearance as the Black & Decker. Making this screwdriver fit into tighter spaces would be a huge advancement

The gyro screwdriver mechanism is gimmicky but is actually much more intuitive than a conventional power screwdriver; it's an extension of the 'modeless' concept from user interfaces to power tools. I can't count the number of times I've left my drill in "tighten" when I really meant to have it in "loosen," and this helps keep that from happening.

Wow! I cannot believe how often I have used this tool after I got it. The gyro mechanism took about 2-3 tries to get the hang off but now that I understand it, I cannot live without it. The tool itself only comes with two bits (one flat and one philips) but since it accepts any standard hex tool bit, you can use it with a lot more bits (luckily for me, I had a whole set available). The 4-volt is sufficient for more household chores though if you're looking to drill holes, you need something with a bit more power. As with any Lithium Ion tool, the charge lasts quite long. Once the battery dies, the tool will just stop working (unlike NiCad batteries, where the tool will slowly lose power as the battery wears out). One drawback is that there is no place to keep the two bits that the tool comes with however, if you have a place where you store your tools already, then this is not a big concern. Overall, I find this tool very, very handy to have. For major work, I use my 18V drill but for regular household activities, this tool is indispensable.

good amount of torque for its size but don't expect to power in a 2 inch number eight would screw into oak but if you're just looking to unscrew later duty screws this is the way to go. The Gyro was a pleasant surprise and works really well. Would definitely recommend this tool to home handyman.
