Product Description

Amazon.ca Product Description

Precise control. Slice, shred, chop, mince, mix or blend, with convenient pulse control or Always On flexibility - this food processor lets you match the right speed to the right processing task every time.

From Amazon.ca

With its powerful 450-watt motor, this convenient food processor helps to reduce prep time in the kitchen. The unit provides an 8-cup work bowl and a stainless-steel chopping blade for coarsely or finely chopping, mincing, mixing, or pureeing food. It also comes with a reversible stainless-steel slicing/shredding disk and a food chute with a pusher for slicing cabbage to make coleslaw or for shredding cheese to sprinkle over a homemade pizza. Chop, slice, or shred directly into the work bowl or use the continuous-flow side chute to slice up large quantities of food like potatoes or carrots into a separate container. Its user-friendly control dial offers low and high speed settings, plus "pulse" to deliver an extra burst of power when needed. For safety, the appliance provides an interlock system, which prevents the food processor from operating unless the work bowl and cover are properly locked into place. Other highlights include a continuous flow stopper to direct food into the work bowl, a storage lid, cord wrap, and dishwasher-safe parts for quick cleanup. The food processor measures approximately 10-1/5 by 10-1/5 by 15-1/5 inches and carries a one-year limited warranty.

I purchased this item to chop carrots and potatoes for my dog which has food allergies. Not only does it jam constantly (especially with the potatoes), but it is not ergonomic. You have to try and turn a big button and hold it in place while feeding the machine with the other hand and turning the bowl that collects the food all at once! When I tried to use it to blend a cream of asparagus, the contents was coming out of all possible cracks in the cover. It therefore doesn't close hermetically and you can't use it to blend anything liquid. I put it away and am now using my old Philips food processor, which is much smaller but at least does the job!

Purchased this so that we could shred cabbage quickly and effectively; save some elbow grease. It did indeed shred the cabbage, but also allowed relatively large chunks of it to travel around on the upper blade, and collect there a bit. Also the large chunks got in the shredded portion as well, causing more manual labour to make it all uniform size. There's too much of a gap between the upper rotating blade and the plastic housing, allowing this to happen. With carrots, the machine partially jammed itself up, as carrot chunks got into this space as well, and were'nt ejected.

Good processor though pretty loud. Does the job it stands for well enough. The parts are a bit difficult to handle (attach - re-attach), but easy to clean. Over all it's a good price for the tool.
