I love this item! I have been using it for about a year now with fantastic results. Fast, easy way to make nutritious foods with no added fat. I cook my veggies a little longer than what the manual states - but that is more personal preferrence. Easy clean up. I use it all the time. Great little appliance at a great price.
November 12, 2011 update. I have now used this for making hard boiled eggs - I can fit a dozen in the steamer - but not all of them get to stand up in the spots designated for eggs. 35 minutes and they are cooked perfectly. I have also steamed those bags of baby potatoes for making potato salad and they came out great too. I have steamed shrimp and meatballs. Everything is healthy and yummy. Love this machine.

This unit was specifically purchased to replace an older model that was getting long in the tooth. The external clear plastic shell was beginning to crack on the old unit. The new one seems a bit flimsy and the internal rice/veggie container is a bit smaller. We like this steamer though; it makes great rice in a easy manner.
