5.0 out of 5 stars Earth-Shaking Dec 18 2009

Destined to become one of the greatest metal albums of all time. Twenty years from now, metalheads will show this album to their kids and say "This album changed the way I listen to music."

Absolutely breathtaking. I found them randomly on MySpace, gave their stuff a listen. Completely unexpected polish and skill. And superb songwriting. Make no mistake, this is a thinking-man's metal band. Vektor is easily one of the most talented bands I have ever been fortunate enough to hear. Just download it already. What are you waiting for? YOU COULD BE LISTENING RIGHT NOW!

I've been downloading music from amazon for months now... and this is the first time I've even considered going out of my way to review an album. That's how good Vektor is.

Vektor is going places. From point A to point B. Get it?

BUY IT!!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Unique July 19 2010

I love the new wave of thrash. But there are too many crappy thrash bands that all sound the same and write music about the same crap. Lately Ive been looking for new bands with a unique style. Vektor is the band I have been searching for. Heavy, fast, unique and smart. Just some great sci-fi thrash.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent! Nov. 17 2010

Though I'm not much into the majority of all these new thrash bands, Vektor is a nice exception. I saw them live because I was looking for a decent thrash show but I was blown away by the quality of their musicianship. Sort of reminds me of a technical, progressive version of Destruction, topped off with cool lyrics that are nothing like your average thrash lyrics.

Needless to say, I bought this cd at the show and have been enjoying it a lot since. Recommended for anyone who wants to hear a new thrash band that actually sounds original.

5.0 out of 5 stars Incredibly Technical Maelstrom of Musical Mastery June 16 2011
By Mercury - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
I've had this album since it first came out, and it's just an amazing work. Actually had to buy it three times because of rules involving iTunes and how bad iTunes can be, but it was worth it to contribute to such a great band. I'll break the review down a little to make it easier to understand what Black Future and Vektor are like.

The Band - Two guitarists, one of which who also does the vocals, a bassist and a drummer. They're generally all your long haired thrash types, and pretty good live. If they start making music videos, I'm just guessing that they're gonna be kickass, not like some metal bands that are recently making things that look like rap videos *shudder*.

The Instruments - The guitarists are extremely good. Very good guitar solos, lots of variation and technicality. The bassist is really good as well, and you can actually hear him. He does a few solo things, like at very beginning of the album. The drummer is fantastic, actually seems to have control. He can go really fast and keep a rhythm while doing so, but he does really good slow parts too. None of the people try to overshadow each other, it all meshes. Long periods of instruments only.

The Vocals - Black metal influenced. If you don't like screeching and wailing vocals this may turn you off, but you'll warm up to it. I personally think they're awesome and work well to complement the screeching, wailing guitars.

The Lyrics - Sci-Fi, very cool and thought out. Tells a story. Worth looking up and reading

The Album - Best song is hard to say. Deoxyribonucleic Acid a is good and straight forward chunk of thrash. Hunger for Violence is some of the best straight guitar work on the album, while Forests of Legend and Dark Nebula are very long epics, with some nice surprises thrown in.

Recommendations - Buy this. If you want to find more things in the way of Thrash Metal, take a look at Havok, Heathen, Vio-Lence, Accept, and Overkill, as well as more common ones like Megadeth, Metallica, and Slayer. Buy this! If you want to diverge the way of Black Metal, Satyricon, Immortal, Emperor, Darkthrone, Varathron, and especially Weapon. Buy this! Up for some Death Metal? Try Amon Amarth, Behemoth, Nile, or Death. BUY THIS!
