Product Description

From Amazon.com

My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way has alternately described his band's third album as "completely over the top" and "borderline psychotic." But even those words can't adequately prepare fans of the group's 2004 platinum major-label debut, Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge, for the onslaught of twisted song suites, glam-rock cannon fire and drama-club theatrics that make up The Black Parade. Tracks like "Mama" and "The End" make "Bohemian Rhapsody" sound like "Blitzkrieg Bop." It's no coincidence that the disc feels as dizzyingly monumental as Green Day's American Idiot--after all, the two albums share the same label, producer, studio, janitorial team, and sense of apocalyptic dread. Similarly, The Black Parade will cast its creators in a completely new light. Despite its overly histrionic tendencies and a totally oddball cameo from Liza Minelli, it offers a clear signal that My Chemical Romance is ready to be taken seriously. --Aidin Vaziri

Album Description

The Black Parade, My Chemical Romance's follow-up to its 2004 platinum major-label debut Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge, "is way more dramatic, way more theatrical, completely over the top, borderline psychotic," says Gerard Way. "It's the most pure, intense thing we've ever been involved in." Producer by Rob Cavallo (Green Day), the album is a celebration of lvoe and death and darkness. Join The Black Parade.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing!, Jun 9 2007
I just recently became a MCR fan and wonder why I hadn't been a fan before! I had heard of them but it wasn't until I heard "Welcome to the Black Parade" and "I Don't Love You" that I decided to find out more about their music and I'm glad I did! Their lastest CD, "The Black Parade" is really amazing. All the tracks are great which is often rare on any CD you buy, with usually only a few good tracks present. But that's not the case for MCR's CD. I've also checked out their previous CDs & will definitely be getting them sometime. I'd absolutely recommend this CD for anyone and would encourage anyone new to MCR to check the CD out, you won't be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great, Mar 11 2007
this is actually a really good album, and a huge improvement from their Three Cheers...

and yeah, some of the musical structure is similar to Pink Floyd or Queen, but the similarities end there.

the blend of the instruments and arrangements are really refreshing and surprisingly original (considering most mainstream acts now-a-days).
The vocals are done well, and the lyrics (and concept) are also impressive.

9/10, good job.

5.0 out of 5 stars Album of the year., Jan 24 2007
first of all to clear up the comparisons to queen and pink floyd, most refer to tracks like the end, mama, and cancer to pink floyds the wall (trust me the end is very reminiscent of in the flesh)and references to queen are more of an undertone than anything, so to all that are angry about the comparisons NOBODY IS SAYING THAT MCR IS EITHER OF THESE BANDS BUT HAVE SIMILAR SONGS!!!!!! now with that out of the way, the band has stepped up every aspect of their game in every song, nevermind anything you have heard about this album, here is the track-bytrack breakdown:

1: The End- this is a great opener and on any other album would be among the best songs but not here 8/10
2:Dead!- basically a companion song to the end so i guess there pretty equal so... 8/10
3:This is How I Disappear- this is among one of my favourtie songs its really very entertaining but still not this albums upper tier. 8.5/10
4: The Sharpest Lives- the first upper tier song but on the lower end of the tier, for those angry at mcr for changing their sound a bit this iss more like some older material. 9/10
5:Welcome to the black parade- many people like this song and i dont know why, i can't stand it, don't get me wrong at first it is very cathcey and a great song but beware of listening to it more than 5 times as you will start hating it. 6/10
6: I Don't love- this song is just okay and is a stretch to fit into the concept of the album but still it is okay. 7/10
7:House of Wolves- Another lower portion upper tier trackit is very fun to listen to even though the lyrics arent meant to be fun and i love the beat to this song. 9 /10
8: Cancer- This is a track that either you hate or you love, im a lover. 8.5/10
9: Mama- This is a great track and finally breaks to the top portion of the upper tier its just a good song for a good portion but Liza Minelli makes it that much better. 9.5/10
10: Sleep- Just okay again but has a very nice chorus. 7.5/10
11: Teenagers- Here is a track basically made to keep the fans of the three cheers album because thast where this track belongs and not on this album, should have been replaced by the bonus track blood, but its still good but for not fitting in. 6.5/10
12:Disenchanted- Great Song, among the top of the album its great to see that mcr can make great tracks that are slow paced songs, you gotta love this one. 10/10
13: Famous Last Words- absolutley the best track off of the entire album its a perfect lbend of thier new sound off of this album and their previous three cheers sound. 10/10
14: Blood- Also a greast track but not as good as the previous two but its twisted nature and sound is actually very refreshing. 9.75/10

So ther you have it, and on one final note i would like to say that this album is much more ground breaking than the critically acclaimed and supposed most ground breaking album of out time , american idiot by greend day, and i mean waaaay more ground breaking.
