An introduction to John of the Cross in pratical application May 21 1998
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
I love these authors! This work was my first introduction to Nemeck and Coombs. Not only is it an excellent introduction to the tenets of St. John of the Cross, it also provides tremendous insight into addiction and attachment, both of which are prevelant in the human condition. Although he lived in the 16c, John of the Cross offers much to contempary Christians interested in being freed from the bondage to self. I highly recommend this, and all books by Nemeck and Coombs.

Recovery through prayer Oct. 9 2014
By Barbara Moran - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
This text is a wonderful follow up the previous volumes by Nemeck and Coombs, who have co-authored three previous texts on the spiritual journey with emphasis on the writings of Teilhard de Chardin and John of the Cross. This book combines the insights of these two masters of the spiritual life with practical advice on overcoming addiction, codependency, and attachment through prayer and letting God take charge of one's life, no matter how difficult making changes might prove to be.

Practical approach to St John of the Cross’s writings May 23 2015
By Nicholas Baz - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
This book by Nemeck is the perfect followup study to my years of study with St John of the Cross’s writings. Nemeck’s application brings the teachings of St John of the Cross into the practical realm. One does not need to be an addict to obtain great benefit from this approach. I highly recommend this book for any serious student of St John’s writings.

Book is the very most in depth coverage of the spectrum of spiritual darkness people go through and with God's grace we can find light at the end of the long dark tunnel, we use it as a study guide for the 12-steps for Chrisitans message

Outstanding presentation of recovery from addiction and attachments in the writings of John of the Cross and Teilhard de Chardin. The book is helpful to anyone involved in spiritual direction or just making the journey through the dark night.
