It was exactly what I was looking for. I listen to Susie Larson every day on Christian radio, and I am on Facebook with her. So I read her 'Blessings for the Evening" every night. I print them off, but it's fantastic to have it in book form. I will need to order another copy as I have given on away as a birthday gift, and will be giving me copy to a friend as well.

What a wonderful book! Nov. 5 2013
By Tammy's Book Parlor - Published on
Format: Hardcover
This is a beautiful book! The pages are loaded with pictures of nature, people and animals.
The pictures are bright and colorful and then the words are printed "on top" of the pictures.
This is not a sit down and read it type of book. It's more of a type of book. It's relaxing book.
There are prayers, scriptures and short/very short devotionals. It's not a deep book and therefore, it makes for a great before I go to sleep read.
I love all the pictures but one of my faves is on page 111. There is a beautiful picture of a sunset with a long walk out to a lake. It is entitled, Purpose in Every Step.
This is a great encouraging "read."
I'm going to give this book as a get well card to those who need encouragement when they are ill.
It would also make a great gift!

Blessings review Nov. 2 2013
By Jan - Published on
Format: Hardcover
I have been listening to Susie Larson on the radio for several months and was looking forward to the release of this book. I was NOT disappointed! I ordered one for me and 2 others for friends who are struggling.
This book is the perfect size to sit on my night stand or to tuck away in my purse. It is of great quality and feels "solid" in my hands.
Susie combines the truths of Scripture on the left page and her blessings on the right. Each of these are pasted upon beautiful backdrops of pictures of creation which are very refreshing to behold. She has a way of playing with words to create passages full of encouragement and strength. As God is known to do, each passage seems to be just what I need.
The book is priced so well. It is definitely affordable to give as a gift.
Love this book!!

Gift Quality Book Oct. 28 2013
By Amazon Customer - Published on
Format: Hardcover
This is a Beautiful, Gift quality book of encouragement. It has beautiful pictures on every page as a back drop to the words of life. There is scripture on one side and a short prayer-like encouragement on the other. At the back of the book are some other specific encouragements that are aimed at Grief, Disappointment and Christmas, just to name a few .
What an awesome way to spend a few moments and quiet your soul before bedtime (as well as other times). I first became aware of the author, Susie Larson, when I found her site on Facebook and still visit her page often.
When her book, came up as a choice to read for review, I was quick to snap it up. It didn't disappoint. I plan on "gifting" this to a friend, who I know will enjoy it as much as I did. I plan on remembering this book for Christmas, Birthdays and other special days of friends and family.

I received a free copy of this novel from Bethany House Publishers as part of their book review program, and I am under no obligation to write a positive review.

Great devotional Nov. 12 2013
By Angel - Published on
Format: Hardcover
I admit that I didn't read this book one blessing per night, partly because I tend to read several pages of any book at once, and partly because I wanted to get it read for this review. I do plan to go back and reread one blessing per night, though, since I think it is a nice way to end the day.

Each night's reading in the book has one scripture reading on the first page and one blessing that corresponds to that scripture. The words are printed over gorgeous nature photography. There is an index in the front, which is nice for finding particular words of encouragement. Titles range from "A Thankful Heart" and "Let God Carry the Load" to "Christ in Focus." There are also a few season-specific blessings at the end of the book for Thanksgiving, Christmas, grieving, etc.

I really enjoyed this book. It is a soothing and empowering read. It would be a lovely gift, too. I highly recommend this book.

I received this book from Bethany House for the purpose of writing a review, but all opinions are my own.

simple and nice. Dec 10 2013
By Emily - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
This is a nice looking hard back book. Small enough for your bedside table. It is full color with pleasant pictures on every single page. Facing pages make one big picture. They’re the sentimental type, fields of flowers, beaches, serene images to keep you nice and calm in the evening. There’s a brief bible quotation on the left facing page and a simple prayer on the right page. This book seems simple and enjoyable enough for Christians of any denomination. Doesn’t particularly seem conflicting with any tenants of faith. They’re simple, common day prayers and thoughts. This is a good way for someone to begin with prayer if they haven’t had a particularly detailed or fulfilling prayer life. It’s also a great addition or companion for the person who is quite comfortable with prayer. It’s not very in depth or particularly thought provoking for the deep, contemplative praying person.

I received this book for free from Bethany House Books.
