Very delighted with B.M.'s renderings...charming and touching. A few Pop tracks and several more finely textured songs with subtle moods and sensitivities. Thanks B.M. Love it.

A surprising album, with many good tracks. Unfortunately, it comes in a digipak. Did not buy it because of that, and I hope that more and more customers will do the same. Industry has forced those digipaks on us for far too long already. We do not want that! They cannot be replaced when damaged, they scratch our CDs when we take then out or back in, they do not fit in our CD cases, etc. And they wonder why CD sales are down? Sorry, Coeur de Pirate! You've lost another sale because of that cheap digipak packaging!

A real talent! The songs and arrangements are original and interesting, with her personality coming through - way better than the usual trite commercial stuff produced by a lot of anglophone artists.

Highly recommended!

I don't speak french, but this music speaks to me Jan. 4 2013

After hearing a few songs on Pandora, I knew this would be the perfect gift for a French student. She loves it, and it's improving her mastery of the language at the same time. Understanding lyrics to songs (I'm told) is very difficult in other languages. The CD comes with lyrics, which is an excellent way to review.

The style reminds me of Regina Spektor, and every song is beautiful and easy to listen to.

Review for the album 'Blonde' Sept. 25 2012

This is an album by Coeur de Pirate that is well worth buying. Béatrice Martin's voice is really amazing, and the instrumentals (especially the piano) are wonderful. The lyrics are in French, and the combination of Ms. Martin's fantastic vocals, French language, and instrumentals make this a truly memorable album!

4 1/2 Stars, Transcends Language! Dec 23 2011

First off the album is mostly in French which would generally would turn me off. Nothing against French, it is just that I dropped French after Grade 9, and even then my French wasn't very good. So I don't have a clue what the lyrics are about. On top of that the songs have a sweet poppy sound. That is also something I'm not generally into. But despite these facts I find this album irresistible. I can't listen to this album with out feeling all giddy inside.
Good young French Canadian music July 3 2014
By studentwriter - Published on Amazon.com
Very good young rock female music in Canadian French, and one truly beautiful ballad called La Petit Mort , which in French means "orgasm." Not a dirty song, though. poetic and philosophical, just like the French! I am learning to sing it, and it is a good way to learn French.

I don't speak any French beyond names of food but this album is fantastic. It reminds you of '50s and '60s music at some points and at others all that really stands out is how beautiful her voice and the music are. That's really it: she has a beautiful voice and the accompanying music is pretty good as well.
