5.0 out of 5 stars A book for fans of the mystery genre, not just pagan mystery readers, Oct 2 2008
By Julie Bryant "An Avid Reader" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Blood Moon (Paperback)
After three disconcerting and thought-provoking novels featuring super-baddie, Miranda, M.R. Sellars' Rowan Gant has returned to the familiar world of ordinary crime in St. Louis. Well, far from ordinary are the two bodies drained of blood with fingers of suspicion pointed towards vampirism. Rowan is again asked to lend his unwelcome gift of hearing the dead to the investigation.

Fiery wife Felicity O'Brien is along for the ride, regaining confidence after her brushes with Miranada. A welcome twist is that Felicity is now more hands-on in helping Rowan listen to the dead without becoming one of them himself.

In-fighting between local, state and federal jurisdictions, "official" deception, and returning favorite Ben Storm's unusual behavior help give "Blood Moon" a feeling of traditional detective stories...with a decidedly otherworldly twist.

If you're a returning reader and a fan of Miranda, never fear; it looks like that one isn't going quietly. If you're a new reader, the earlier books in the "Rowan Gant Investigations" series will give color to the characters, but they are not necessary for the enjoyment of "Blood Moon". After reading "Blood Moon", though, you'll probably buy the earlier ones, though. You've been warned.

5.0 out of 5 stars M. R. Sellars really has a way of drawing the reader in and making them feel the emotions of each character, Jan 13 2009
By Rachel P. Smith "BittenbyBooks.com" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Blood Moon (Paperback)
Blood Moon is book nine in the RGI (Rowan Gant Investigations) series. We ended the last book The End of Desire with quite a cliff hanger, and this one starts out with a twist that not even I saw coming. You got me Sellars! Dang it. lol

Rowan and Felicity are just plain worn down to emotional nubs, and need a break from all of the chaos and horror that their combined gifts bring, more so Rowan's gift though. He's back to talking to dead people again even though he quite the MCS and even tried to put a firm distance between himself and his friend detective Ben Storm.

That is until bodies start turning up drained of their blood and Rowan gets a dose of the bizarre stigmata of losing his blood too. Is there some kind of vampire killing these women? Or is it another ritual cult gone very very wrong?

As if this weren't enough, Miranda seems to still be causing them grief even after the killer part of her was put behind bars. Of course our favorite Bible thumping official makes an appearance, and this time the show is on the other foot. Lets just say while I felt for her situation, I took a not so secret glee in this character "needing" Rowan's talents.

This is a really long series, but I look forward to more books in it. M. R. Sellars really has a way of drawing the reader in and making them feel the emotions of each character without you realizing it. This is the hallmark of a great writer and true literary talent. While I enjoyed the Miranda trilogy, I was glad to move into some new, or not so new territory in Blood Moon.

5.0 out of 5 stars Blood Moon~, Jan 26 2010

Once again M.R.Sellars has not disappointed. His Rowan Gant series has captivated me. With all the problems Rowan and Felicity have experienced there seems to be no end for them. It kept me on the edge of my seat reading well into the night. Within a day and a night I completed the latest of his writings and now am eagerly awaiting Miranda. He is a pleasure to read and knows exactly how to phrase it.~
