This review is from: Blood of Thrones (Paperback)
This is a novel based on a series of battles for a number of thrones in the British Isles during the 11th Century leading up to the Norman Invasion. It is well written and fast paced. There is some character development but not much. The narrative is interesting in as much as it is a story told by a mysterious gentleman to a severaly blocked playwright. This narrative device knits the various struggles for power together.

I did not check the history on it but it looks pretty accurate. If you want a short summary of the struggles leading up to and including the Norman invasion this is good choice.

A percentage of the proceeds go to a charity in the British Isles. Another interesting thing is the author took the novel in a month challenge that many writting groups around the world do each year. So if you think you have a novel in you, take a look at this book. For this type of effort, it is a very nice example.
