5.0 out of 5 stars Comic Fun 4 Mar 15 2013

This may be the best of this brilliant series. The oddball characters are involved in beautifully depicted, wistful, zany, and telling story arcs. It is hard to overemphasise what an impact these strips had on the youth of the world when they were first published and it was wonderful to get them all in these superb bindings!

5.0 out of 5 stars From the Creative Director April 12 2011
By DeanMullaney - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
The explanation for the missing words in the "Meet Deathtongue" Sunday is pretty mundane. When Berkeley packed up the original art for us to print the book, the paste-up lettering simply fell off. Neither he nor we noticed it! No censorship, no conspiracy, just old rubber cement!

5.0 out of 5 stars Bloom County revisited May 16 2011
By B. Southworth - Published on Amazon.com

Collecting all the books has been a way for me to recapture my youth. What pleases me to no end is that I introduced the series to my daughters. They loved them and we had several discussions afterwards that I'll cherish forever. I also found ones that I managed to miss (or my paper didn't run.) Bloom County was and still is too cool for words.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful, of course, but what's with the crude censorship? April 6 2011
By Mr Klean - Published on Amazon.com

Of course Vol 4 is amazing and wonderful, like all the others - how could it not be? It's Bloom County. But what's this awkward, clumsy censoring of the 12/7/86 "Meet Deathtongue" Sunday strip that was also used for the back cover, for heaven's sake? Steve's statement with words just chopped out, leaving it making no sense at all. And no comment from BB about it, which is also striking. Did this have anything to do with the delay in publishing? What does BB have to say about all this? I went back to my old "Billy and the Boingers" collection to remember what it was supposed to say. I guess it was kind of harsh to Mr Richie (teehee - not really). But how wimpy and rushed to just chop out the reference with no explanation. Oooo, I'm just so darn irritated! I wanna know the rest of the story on this one.
