Product Description

This straightforward, entertaining, sometimes nostalgic, and sometimes sad account of the Montreal Expos in their final season and of the events leading up to their departure is also a pocket history of the 33-year run of the franchise in Canada. The Expos were the first Major League Baseball team to relocate since the Washington Senators moved to Texas in 1971.

2.0 out of 5 stars Very poorly written, Dec 24 2010
This review is from: Blue Mondays: The Long Goodbye of the Montreal Expos (Paperback)
Never have I seen a book with so many formatting errors; there are missing periods everywhere. Also this is the only book I've ever read that contained blatantly false information. The Expos logo does not mean "Expos le Basebol" (That's not even french). This book also provides very little insight into the team and the second half is a brief summary of some of the games from the 2004 season. I highly regret paying so much for this book; it's the type of read you pick up from a bargain bin for $2, maybe less.

4.0 out of 5 stars Must reading for all Expos fans, July 17 2009
By Thomas P. Joseph - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Blue Mondays: The Long Goodbye of the Montreal Expos (Paperback)
It's been almost five years since our beloved Expos were lost to Washington, DC. I guess it was a precursor of all things we now see being taken over by DC! Reliving the painful timeline and duplicity that ended with the 2004 season is difficult for any Expos fan, but there is something about just seeing the word "Expos" in print again that's exciting. We Expos fans are the "few, the happy few" and even the players who wore the uniform are thinning out. Expos fans: read the book because there won't be much written about our team anymore. Les Expos sont la (the Expos are here) - in our hearts!

2.0 out of 5 stars Kudos to a self-publisher, but please carefully edit your work., Jun 16 2009
By Aaron - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Blue Mondays: The Long Goodbye of the Montreal Expos (Paperback)
1) I'm an Expos fan, so I appreciated the nostalgia
2) I willingly put up the $25+
3) While I appreciate the effort to self-publish, an average of two or three editorial errors (spelling, grammar, cut-and-paste holdovers) per paragraph are simply unacceptable.
4) Only buy this book if you can look past a brutal rough draft. Honestly.
