BoA... WOW,
By Michel Therien "Mich" (Montreal, Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Boa (Audio CD)
I just got this North American breakthrough album by Boa... I had already heard and loved Eat You Up... but the album is totally AWESOME... only have one word for it... WOW... I hope she keeps it up... sounded so good on my 1000 watt stereo rattling the windows... lol needless to say I will look for more albums by her, I already had purchased two of her oriental releases... but it is so good to hear her sing in english instead of Korean and Japanese

A Bit Dissapointing...,

I was a bit discouraged by this album; as a whole, all of the songs sound monotonous when it comes to BoA's debut album,"BoA". Of course, I don't hate all the songs, though. Rather than that, this album needed various kinds of music types such as not only dance and R&B styles like Eat You Up but also catchy tunes like Brand New Beat. I could have enjoyed this album if she had tried therapeutic songs like Shine We Are, Brand New Beat, Milky Way in English version. Of course, ballad songs like Love Letter and Key of Heart would be fine. Again, I wouldn't like you to sing the same pattern of songs in English like this debut album in the United states, BoA!The Japanese version didn't bore me like the USA version. Let me put it this way; Japan Best suits her better than the US debut album. Esp, Brand New Beat, Key of Heart, Sparkling, and Love Letter are my faves! I have no idea why these sort of tunes don't exist in her USA debut album.

I originally bought this because of Eat You Up not expecting a whole lot, but wow was I wrong. Every song on the album is a hit I especially like Energetic, Eat You Up and Look who's talking. Some people claim that some of this album gets lost in translation, not having heard anything before this I wouldn't know.If you're on the fence about this one I just say go for it, you won't regret it.
