We bought the Bob Book set for our 4 year old grandson for Christmas. Boxing day he was already reading from the books. He had never read from a book before. Awesome!

Simple yet adorable art work, basic sentences encourage early readers to read through, and enjoy the bob books. They are written intelligently , unlike allot of the phonics books. For example, barbie, hello kitty, dora. which introduce strange/ uncommon words and have incomprehensible sentences, most likely written by someone who speaks English as a second language and doesn't have an English editor.
I like that they are short, well put together and in sets, and your kids will build confidence while working through the books with little frustration or help.

The Bob series are a great introduction to reading for 4-5 year olds. Focus is on short, simple words and stories with good illustrations. Each book only takes about 5 minutes to read (even for a beginner). A great confidence builder.
