These are perfect for the piping hot capuccinos we enjoy. The oustside stays cool even when the contents are at the boiling point. The top is open of course so the contents won't stay hot as long as in a covered travel mug for instance but definitely longer than in a single wall cup. The colored area you see in the photo in some sort of synthetic material that makes the cup very easy to grip, less likely to drop. They are apparently fragile, one arrived broken but was quickly replaced. With normal handling so far they are doing fine and are used nightly.

I like the way these cups look and feel. The double-wall construction makes the cups a bit bulky, but it also provides enough insulation to make it easy to pick up a cup full of boiling hot liquid without a handle. Since the cups have no handles, that also makes it easier to use them in a cup-holder in a car. The cups have a small plug in the bottom (I assume it is there to seal the space between the inner and outer walls of the cup). That made me wonder how the cups would hold up in a dishwasher or microwave. Bodum says they are dishwasher safe, but Bodum customer service does not recommend putting them in a microwave. That reduces their usefulness from my point of view.
