Book Description

* The first book in English on the ancient Chinese tradition of reading personality traits in physical appearance. * Includes over 100 illustrations that explain the meanings of physical characteristics. * Explains how individuals can influence their destiny and use negatively perceived physical aspects as tools for healthy relationships and positive self-transformation.

Min Xiang Shue--also known as body feng shui--is an ancient Taoist tradition that uses the techniques from the more familiar art of placement (feng shui) to reveal the connection between inner character and external appearance. According to this ancient art, it is possible to recognize the personality of an individual from his or her facial features, hand shape, movements, and posture. Generously illustrated with more than 100 drawings that explain the meaning of distinctive physical characteristics, Body Feng Shui teaches you how to explore your own and others' destinies by reading the truths of the soul as they appear on the human body.

Introduced for the first time in the Western world, the art of body feng shui can show how a negative or positive physical aspect can be partially responsible for happiness or misfortune, health or illness, wealth or poverty. Moreover, though we are given certain attributes at birth, these are not unchangeable. Body Feng Shui provides valuable lessons for redesigning our fate based on the observations of our physical appearance and offers many examples of positive changes you can make to transform an inauspicious physical feature into a blessing--none of which require plastic surgery.

5.0 out of 5 stars Chinese art, Jun 27 2001
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Body Feng Shui (Paperback)
Having studied this art with a wonderful Chinese expert, I can say that it works. Face and body reading is used not only in fengshui, but as an adjunct to Chinese astrological reading as well. By reading one's face and body, as well as energy, one's element, among other things can be determined and, thus, used for adjusting the fengshui of one's living and working environment. The earlier reviewer of this book must clearly be unwilling to understand what the author has to reveal.

This book is great for beginners and has a lot of drawn examples. I wish there was more in depth analysis. I recommend this book for someone who wants a very quick reference guide with few details

2.0 out of 5 stars Naive Feng Shui, Mar 5 2001
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Body Feng Shui (Paperback)
Probably expecting to find some tips on how to cure and improve body, health and mind through feng shui I acquired this book. I found nothing like this in this book. The reader can only find descriptions for the different parts of the body and their shapes, and then learn to interpret them according to their various shapes and sizes. The descriptions are to vague and it is difficult to learn something about a person through this book. Pictures are confusing, it is difficult to interpret or understand them. I'd say the most critical aspect of this book is that there is no flow between chapters, it is like reading different things and not one whole book.Unofortunately I haven't been able to take any advantage of this book, or learn anything from it. Plus, I still can't figure what this book has got to do with feng shui.
