5.0 out of 5 stars Funny Canadian Film Aug 31 2012
Format:Blu-ray|Amazon Verified Purchase
Great fun film... this is film is on par with Hollywood films in the same genre (spoof, silly, action, cop movie) essentially this is a cop buddy type movie - with a little romance and a bit of hockey, to keep it Canadian.

A Québécois cop and an Ontario cop are paired together, perhaps under duress. As they are forced to work together they discover how different they are and how different their work styles are.
Québécois and English Canadian, culture, stereotypes and language are equally exploited in order to get laughs.

In many ways it is really a Canadian film which became more apparent when my American spouse missed some of the humour and cultural references. Cultural figures are spoofed (there is a Don Cherry type character) and references to ‘The Great One’.
Non-Canadians can still enjoy the film, but may not see or get every reference.

5.0 out of 5 stars Smart and entertaining Jan 5 2013
By Gary Fuhrman TOP 50 REVIEWER

I somehow missed this when it originally came out (2006), so i'm happy that a francophone friend recommended it. As a previous reviewer said, it's one of those films that spoofs its own genre while also developing some real suspense instead of being merely silly. The script, which of course is in both languages, is clever enough to get some intelligent laughs but also solid enough to make the characters seem real, and the same goes for the acting (and the action sequences). This one goes straight into my short list of favorite Canadian films.
