Product Description

Thirty-something Geordie girl Aimee Anderson has just been dumped by her fiancé, Robbie – on the night of their engagement party. So, in an attempt to get over both the relationship, and the rather embarrassing way in which it ended, Aimee and her best friend Jemma are escaping the North East of England and going on the holiday of a lifetime which, in their case, is a trip around the Mediterranean on a mid-budget cruise liner. And there’s only one thing Aimee’s determined to do on this holiday, and that’s forget about Robbie and have some fun.

Danny Johnson is one-fifth of 90’s British boy band Bon Voyage, and they’re about to make a comeback. In the middle of the Mediterranean. On the same cruise as Aimee. And Aimee used to love Bon Voyage. Aimee used to love Danny Johnson…

Back in the day, Danny had been the band’s “bad boy”, and whilst the years haven’t damaged his looks in any way, his post-pop-star life is in a bit of a mess. About to be divorced from Newcastle party princess and Z-list celebrity wannabe, Davina Black, and harbouring a secret from the past about the real reason Bon Voyage split up, Danny just isn’t sure if being back in a boy band is what he really wants. But one thing he does want is some fun. For the next two weeks, at least.

So, when Aimee finally meets the man of her dreams – literally – could they possibly have some fun together? Or is something – or somebody – about to stand in the way of Aimee having a holiday to remember?

More 'Carry on Cruising' than a sophisticated trip on a luxury liner, Bon Voyage is a light-hearted rom com; a story of boy bands, broken dreams and, of course, a little bit of romance, out on the ocean wave…

Michelle Betham is also the author of the edgy and sexy rock 'n' roll romance 'See You At The Show', the light-hearted romantic comedies 'Too Much Trouble in Paradise' and 'Bon Voyage', the epic Hollywood romance ‘No Matter What’, and the follow-up 'Illusions of Love', sexy soccer romances 'Striker' and 'Extra Time', and 'The First Christmas Without You', a Christmas romance novella published through Harper Impulse.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bon Voyage by Michelle Betham May 4 2012

Format:Kindle Edition
This is the exciting brand new novel from Michelle Betham.

Aimee Anderson and best friend Jemma are two normal girls from the north east of England. Who along with Aimee's mother, the larger than life Marcie, are about to spend two weeks on holiday together in the Mediterranean, on an all inclusive cruise.

Back in the 1990's Aimee and Jemma had been massive fans of the popular boy band Bon Voyage. The band had had huge success and like Aimee and Jemma are also from the north east of England. The band who had since split up and gone their own separate ways were also going to be on the cruise, taking part in a new reality TV show with cameras following them everywhere as they perform a series of reunion gigs on the cruise that will hopefully lead to them getting a second shot at fame.

The last thing on Aimee's mind is love, after just having a painful break up. But when she hears about the band being on the ship and Bon Voyage member Danny Johnson had always been her teenage crush and now she was about to see him in the flesh. With the band being out of the spotlight for a number of years and Danny himself now working as a painter and decorator will she have a chance with her teenage heartthrob?

Bon Voyage is an entertaining read, it is a story told with great humour that gives the reader a good giggle. I really enjoyed reading this book with its fantastic cast of characters. Some of the characters who will stop at nothing to grasp onto the fame machine. The conclusion to the story makes the story come together nicely and I would read another book with these characters in. Well done to Michelle Betham another brilliant story that makes daydreamers like me believe that anything can be possible.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Read! May 7 2012

You don't just escape with Bon Voyage, you sail on a beautful cruise ship, sip amazing cocktails, meander through ancient cities. You laugh a lot, share love and set backs, meet unforgetable people, but more importantly, you read a great book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun and Fluffy June 8 2012

I thought this was a light summer entertaining story, that gave me a few chuckles actually. It is written from the British point of view, and as an American there were some slang words I didnt know...but easily guessed! I found the travel details fun to read about, and the cruise descriptions were very funny at times, and so true. I think if you ever had a crush on a player in a band, you will relate to the girls in this book. I know I did, and no, Im not going to reveal which band! Overall I enjoyed this book more than expected.

English novel meant more for teenagers or people with limited intelligence. Deleted very fast from my list, Even free was too expensive. Too many other good things to read.

2.0 out of 5 stars Bored May 8 2012

I usually love romance books and as a cruiser I thought this would be just something I would love. WRONG. I had to skim through most of it because it just didn't hold my interest at all. It was a cute story but it just never left me wanting more. I was very bored with this book
