Finally the official release of the Bonanza series is available. If you are a Bonanza fan you must purchase this set. The picture and sound quality are excellent. There's a lot of wonderful extras. I'm thoroughly enjoying the set. The Bonanza series brings back a lot of wonderful memories.

Talk about nostalgic! As an obsessed & devoted fan of "Little Joe" & "Adam", I grew up watching Bonanza faithfully up until Adam's departure. I sure wish I could get ALL the episodes for those 6 years. Still, these DVD's are way better than the knock offs. The photo galleries were a bit of a disappointment. Many of them were the same photo, only taken from slightly different angles. I was hoping for a lot more variety. The audio commentaries were a nice addition but I found that a few ranted on about certain directors and writers and their other accomplishments rather than those specifically geared to the Bonanza years. All in all, I will watch & re-watch these DVD's until I wear them out. Those were the good old days (50's & 60's)!

Bonanza Season 2,
This review is from: Bonanza: The Official Second Season, Volumes One and Two - 2-pack (DVD)
I love it. It's a bit different seeing it at age 60 on a 46 inch high definition color screen than previously as a 10 year old on a b/w 20 inch cathode ray tube television. As a kid, "the good guy shoots the bad guy, yippee", now there sure was a lot of violence in those days. Just saw Stella Stevens as a very young actress and Leonard Nimoy before his Star Trek days. A woman in my church is the daughter of Ric Marlowe, a perpetual bad guy on the series. Ric is doing fine after some health issues, in his eighties doing concerts singing 50's songs. Ah nostalgia! It used to be the Ed Sullivan show and then Bonanza every Sunday night in the 60's on the farm. I loved season 1 and am enjoying season 2 slowly like a smooth cabernet. The delivery is another matter; if I want it immediately, I will pay the premium shipping charge, the lower price shipping from cdsupplies took 25 days what with the border bureaucracy. Now that I'm aware of this, it won't be a problem of future orders.
