The Blue Ray transfers are excellent, and if you have ever wanted to view the Bond Films in good quality.......then this is as good as you will get. The earlier Bond films still have trouble displaying wall paper in the backgrounds that have vertical line design's...but that can't be fixed( even with blue ray) One of the downsides is that the viewing aspect ratio's are inconsistent throughout the set. So one film you may have 3 inch black bars on the top and bottom while another will have no bars on top, but 1 inch bars down each side of the screen (never seen that ratio before until now. Also the sound is very tricky to set properly if you do not have a surround sound home theatre system. I have 55 inch High Def Samsung LED flat screen with a separate fancy sound bar that has a 3-d option on it, but with these films I still have to set the audio to 2 channel or the background noise is 10 times louder than the voice track. That being said the voice tracks are recorded in such a way that no matter how high you turn the volume up, they more or less stay exactly the same. So it is hard to hear what people are saying, while the music and sound effects are ridiculously loud. This would not probably be a problem if you happen to have a surround sound home theatre system.Read more ›
The paper disc slots are terrible. You almost can't take them out without getting fingerprints all over the discs and having to clean them. Which leads to scratches if not done right.
The page binding is too tight and the pages do not open fully. The glue lets go almost immediately after you open the book and apply pressure to remove a disc. At which point the discs just slide out the back onto the floor. SHAME!
This Bond set has been reduced to 24 plain blue cases (not included) on a movie shelf with the other hundreds of movies I have purchased. The packaging will probably be thrown away since it serves no purpose anymore.
When you pay good money for something sold as a 'collection' you expect something better than mass produced overseas made junk.
The best collector set I have ever purchased was M.A.S.H. It came in the green tent material package. The disc slots are designed for easy removal of the disc. They are also padded and very well made so they do not tear or let go.
I display my sets in my home theatre along a shelf that goes around the room. They are conversation pieces and that is what a collector's set is supposed to be.
Each book is very high quality, very thick, glossy, very high graphic quality, each disc is presented by the name of the movie it contains, in slash pockets that fit very nicely. Very very nice packaging. The movies themselves are remastered (as we know) and each movie is very nice to watch. The sounds are very authentic, the image is very crisp, any updated Blu-ray player will do the job.
There are bonus features from each disc and there is a bonus disc after Skyfall with a lot to offer. A great gift for any James Bond fan!
All the movies are fantastic!
Why when they redid this wonderful series they didn't pay attention to the sound levels, is beyond us.

Beautiful box set. I'm working my way through the movies and extra content. My only complaint is, where will I put the new installements?Published 3 months ago by gern blansden
