Patricia Briggs ALWAYS delivers!!!, Jan 16 2009
This review is from: Bone Crossed (Hardcover)
A few days ago an ARC (advanced reader copy) of Bone Crossed by Patricia Briggs arrived in the mail in time for a Christmas delight. Mrs. Briggs leads her readers, yet again, into the walker Mercedes Thompson's world, a modern Tri-Cities, Washington filled with diverse paranormal creatures, most especially werewolves, vampires, fae, and, of course, Mercy herself, a Native American coyote shape-shifter. Being low on the supernatural power scale Mercy has always tried to stay out of trouble, but being engaged to an Alpha werewolf makes that almost impossible. Her stubborn refusal to consign her friends to the status of prey has recently brought her to the attention of Marsilia, mistress of the local vampire seethe. Bone Crossed, the fourth installment of Mercy's story, deals with the consequences of her defiance of the things "that go bump in the night". While recovering from the horrific incidents in Iron Kissed, Mercy still finds the determination to help old friends and make new enemies. It is a joy to watch Mrs. Briggs weave Mercy's strength and loyalty, the devotion of her many varied friends, and the manipulation of plausible enemies into a phenomenal story filled with surprising twists and turns, and real life humor. Although dealing with matters begun in past books, a new reader can pick up Bone Crossed and be just as enamored with Mrs. Brigg's style as any long standing fan. Mercy's history is explained well, no info-dumps, and we find out just a little bit more about the almost extinct walker species, and, of course, the mysterious fae walking stick.

Perhaps the best of a great series, Jun 14 2010
The Mercy Thompson books suck the reader into an alternate world and hold you in a trance until the book ends. Each book is delightful and engrossing and Bone Crossed is probably about the best of the series. Patricia Briggs seems to have hit another level with this one and I can hardly wait for the next to arrive in the mail. Definitely every book in this series (and the associated Alpha and Omega series) are keepers.

Another Great Mercy Novel!, Sep 10 2009
This review is from: Bone Crossed (Hardcover)
Mercy has an incredible ability to put herself in trouble with insane ease. Marsilia knows our walker killed Andre, and trying to save her friends from the vampire's reprisal, Mercy gets herself in even more trouble.
How can it be worst then a vampire queen wanting your death? How other 2 powerful vampires wanting your death?
On top of imminent, and not negligible, death treats. Mercedes finds herself between a rock and a hard place when Stefan and Adam find themselves fighting for her attention.
Bone Crossed was another great book written by Patricia Briggs. Characters are well thread, and some of them are very edgy. You never quite know what to expect from them, which makes the story much more interesting!
Her plotting skills are awesome and you can't really figure out which way the action is heading.
It's gonna be real hard to wait until march for Silver Born to release, and have you seen how gorgeous is the cover? The clothing is kinda off though, can't imagine Mercy wearing that hehe.
