I really enjoy the variety of songs on the CD. I originally purchased it for the Fountain song.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Great Soundtrack, But with a Major Drawback, Oct 31 2008
By Phoenix Child - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Bones (Audio CD)
Bones [Original TV Soundtrack] is a very good CD that fans of many different musical genres can enjoy. It is a good mix with some interesting songs (one of my favorites is an old-style jazz song "Black Star" by Eliza Lumley) and some great musical names such as techno faves The Crystal Method, powerhouse Sarah McLachlan, Stereophonics, Sinead O'Connor, and others. It is, however, lacking one theme that would have cemented it as an awesome soundtrack mix: different songs.

Although this is a very good CD, the only fast-paced songs throughout the ENTIRE CD are the "Bones Theme" and the remix of the "Bones Theme." EVERYTHING else is a slow/almost meloncholy song. Don't get me wrong -- this is very representative of Bones, and I do believe that most of these songs have been featured in episodes, and all of them are good. However, the songs featured on this soundtrack only deal with one aspect of this rich, multifaceted show.

The one thing that would have made this a five-star album would have been the inclusion of upbeat/uptempo songs. For instance, "Hot Blooded," which Booth and Brennan (Bones) dance to in Brennan's apartment would have been a good inclusion. Other songs by The Crystal Method or the other techno/electronica bands that are featured on the show would have been welcome, as well as any other rock bands that do show up from time to time.

So, while I reiterate that this is a very good, very enjoyable CD that many people can enjoy, please note that this is a VERY soft collection, and is a great mix to pop into a CD player when you are in the mood to relax - say, playing in the bathroom during a bubble bath. I give this CD four out of five stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars Some of the best songs in one collection..., Oct 16 2008
By Nicole Loew "Bibliophile" - Published on Amazon.com

If you watch Bones, you probably already have a taste for the modern, perfect music incorporated into the show. Here are a few good reasons to get this CD:

"Running up that Hill" from 2nd season's "Judas on a Pole" - with Placebo's unique, ultra-modern feel and deep, moving lyrics, I for one listened to this song over and over again, unable to stop craving the singular sound of this song.

"Angel" - a beautiful balled worth buying in its own right, very utterly Bones.

"Bring on the Wonder" - an oh-so-sad song once again worth its own CD, belonging utterly in the Bones compendium.

If that's not enough, it'll hold you over until season 3 comes out.

4.0 out of 5 stars Bones Soundtrack, Jan 6 2009
By Amber L. Campbell - Published on Amazon.com

This soundtrack has some very good music. It is unfortunate that the title sequence isn't part of a longer piece, but overall the music is very good. Different artists than I normally listen to and a slower pace to help calm the day down.
