5.0 out of 5 stars A cut above May 23 2012

I received this tool earlier this month. I was looking for a smooth action light weight cutting tool with plenty of power. In that regard I can say that tis tool has answered all that has been asked of it. I have used it for cutting everything from Hard woods to soft woods to PVC to tree branches. Only real limitation is the diameter of the cutting/throat opening. The saw is smooth and effortless regardless of material. The fact that it uses the same 18v lithium ion battery as my other Bosch tools is another big reason that this saw has earned a spot in my tool box.

Only complaint is that I have found it difficult to purchase the replacement blades. Those that I ordered are too long, apparently for another portable band saw. I thought this was the only one Bosch made. As a result I am sending back the 24, 14 and 10 teeth blades that I purchased. Haven't had a chance to speak with Bosch about this issue yet.

2.0 out of 5 stars cuts pipe Dec 2 2013

I bought this to cut through 1.5 inch Schedule 40 galvanized pipes. It cuts through the pipes nicely and cleanly. The blade doesn't last long so it looses 1 star. The key is to cut slowly and not force the tool. just apply even pressure, just the weight the tool will be sufficient.

Edit: I am adding to the review and removing an two stars. The blades break way to easy, I can make about 15 cuts and then the blade breaks. The blade is plenty sharp I think the blade breaks because it follows to tight of a turn and twist inside the saw. The saw is also slightly underpowered for what you expect from a Bosch tool. This is the first Bosch tool I have owned that I didn't like.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great Little Saw Feb. 21 2014
By Mr. Hode - Published on Amazon.com
I purchased this saw about 6 months ago and I am super happy with it. I am a low voltage contractor and use it on a daily basis to cut EMT, PVC, thick cables and occasionally unistrut. My only problem with the saw is that finding replacement blades is difficult. I ended up having to special order them from Grainger. I ended up getting the 10 teeth per inch blades which seem to plow through anything. The L-Boxx is nice too however the extra insert doesn't fit unless you remove the handle from the saw. I got rid of my extra insert. Way better than a sawzall.
3.0 out of 5 stars great but don' lend it. Jan. 14 2014

I think it is a great tool. Great for cutting pipe 20'something feet in the air. Great for cutting conduit pipe up high. Cons: blade will break after a few uses. I am still trying to figure out if it is a user problem or a borrowing problem. Like when I let a helper use it.
Or maybe there is a design problem. I don't know. Working on solving that.
However I am an electrician and have come to realize that the company buys standard size bandsaw blades for jobsites, but will not buy custom size blades for my portable bandsaw. :(
1.0 out of 5 stars a big disappointment Nov. 19 2013

I use it for a week, but the problems do not end.Every day a broken blade and one blade is $ 10. Catastrophic!!!Very poor engineering solution. After a few cuts, cracks appear on the blade and then breaks.I am an electrician for over 15 years and until now I've used other brand band saw that somebody stole
