The PS21-2A easily switches between a low gear of 0 - 350 RPM and a high gear of 0 - 1,300 RPM. Great build quality, good variable speed control. LED light on driver is handy. I found it poorly balanced with the battery in handle design and wouldn't be my choice for a small driver. However I bought this for my Mother who wanted a tiny power drill for the house and for her I think this will do everything she needs and do it well.

I was really excited to receive my pocket driver. As soon as I received it I opened the box and went right to our kitchen drawer that needed repair. The driver is great. The best feature is its small size and weight, while boasting plenty of torque for most carpentry applications. Really, you can't go wrong with this. It is a piece that anyone should own. It takes no storage space and is something you will be reaching for all the time.
Since buying this driver I have barely touched my 18-V Makita set. Why should I? The Makita set (both the BHP454Z and the impact driver) are heavy and extremely powerful. Since I rarelly need that much torque, this bosch driver is perfect to fill in the gap between what the Makita is meant for and what you can do with a manual screwdriver.
In addition, this driver came with a bonus drill (the PS31) wich is also a great driver that has about the same amount of torque than the PS21, but it takes any bit (not necessarily hex). This combo is great!
The only con of having bought this bosch kit is that now I don't use my Makita set any longer.

Can a tiny, light-weight 12V tool provide 18V power, or the torque of an impact gun?
Of course not. Is it the right tool for building a deck? Probably not.
But this drill/driver has lots of power, and it's LIGHT.
It almost feels like it's a part of your hand.
It has a built-in 20 position clutch, high and low range, plus variable speed on the trigger.
Great for overhead work, assembling flat-boxed furniture, and many other things.
It has quick and easy hex-bit changes, though
if you do a lot of drilling, you may want to get the model with the keyless chuck.
(Typically about $10 more.)
