I've been using this shaver for a few days now. We've developed a new habit at home. As soon as I'm done I run like an excited little kid, grab my wife's hand and pass it through my face: "look look look!"
Background: I /hate/ facial hair. I'm not sure of why. But I also have a very sensitive skin /and/ the disposable shavers were passing a toll on our economy (a 4 pack every 3 weeks, wtf?). I tried the baby oil hack, but in the end the replacements would end up breaking apart or it'd be a mess -there'd always be small hairs remaining on the oil even if I tried really hard to clean the damn things, and in the end the oil would get dirty and disgusting.
I've tried one of those Panasonic rotary thingies to no avail. I'd always end up needing a manual shaving afterwards. I saw the reviews for this Braun and was a bit sceptical at first but thought "well, worst case scenario I'll return it or sell it somewhere".
O... M... G... From the very first time I couldn't believe it. Yes, I still got a little bit irritated, but it was /nothing/ compared to how I got with the manual ones. It took a few minutes, but I think it was nearly the same time I used with the manual things anyway. If anything, there are a few places (i.e. near the chin and under the nose) where I have to try really, really hard to get a good shave. If I get really desperate I can either leave it like that (it's not that noticeable) or use a manual one. But both in time (thanks, auto-cleaning stuff!) and $$$ and comfort, I feel I've made the best choice in /years/ when it comes to personal hygiene grooming. No, I'm not exaggerating, I really mean it.
Now again, my experience with electric shavers has been rather limited (until now I'd only used 2 or 3, low-to-mid end models). So I'm not sure if I can really compare against other high-end electric shavers. But if you're coming from the manual-disposable world, /don't hesitate/ and get this thing ASAP. Really!
