Product Description

Uneasy lies the head that wears the crown. Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul return in their Emmy® -winning roles of Walter White and Jesse Pinkman in the fifth explosive season of Breaking Bad. With Gus Fring dead, Walt’s transformation from a well-meaning family man to ruthless drug kingpin is nearly complete. Forming a partnership with Jesse and Mike (Jonathan Banks), Walt proceeds to make a killing in the meth business until the fruits of his murderous schemes are threatened by a new development in the investigation led by his relentless brother-in-law Hank (Dean Norris). Executive produced by Vince Gilligan and Mark Johnson, the fifth season charts the murderous rise of Walter White as he reaches new highs...and new lows.

It's always a pleasure to preorder a series lower than the market! The quality was really great and the shipping really fast.

Thank you again!

5.0 out of 5 stars Breaking Bad is Hard To Do! March 14 2014
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
Not much to say here as anyone that has watched this series already knows it is 5 stars. I would just like to add that this series made me want to watch series's again. You never know what is going to happen. Was so well written that I am sure that people that liked this series will be waiting with much anticipation on what Vince Gilligan will be doing next.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's over, and it was a great ride! Sept. 30 2013
Well, we now know how one of the most popular modern shows on TV ends- it ends really, really well. Without going into spoilers, these episodes represent the second half of the final season (kind of a cheap sales gimmick in my opinion, but it is what it is). And they continue the tradition of great writing and acting. While I was able to predict some of the events in each of the episodes, leading up to the final episode, I was still regularly surprised. But never in a bad way as the writers kept the plot moving forward in a fully plausible sequence that was shocking, entertaining, and larger than life. I remember thinking as I watched the final episode- too bad someone in the show couldn't write Walt's story as a book in the show, they'd make a mint! But of course, that's what the show is all about- telling Walt's story! It's a superb bit of modern writing that doesn't dumb it down or go for cheap laughs, shocks, or heart tugs, but it's also not taking itself over the top in being too serious.

By the end of the show, I ended up with a lot of mixed feelings towards Walt, aka Heisenberg. Walt was a great character, with his alter ego Heisenberg being equally interesting. Everything he does in the final is a salute to both sides of him, masterfully weaved together so that I don't know whether I should be happy or sad with his outcome. Mostly, I'm satisfied. It was a good ending in that it fit very well with both Walt and Heisenberg. His partner Jessie also goes through a transformation through the ending episodes also ending in a satisfying ending. The last major character is Walt's wife Skyler, who gets to wrap things up, one way or the other, with Walt (and Heisenberg).

Series finales can be challenging. They can sometimes say too much, sometimes too little.

5.0 out of 5 stars And I thought Mad Men was great Dec 5 2013
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
Having held off watching Breaking Bad since the star of the show portrays a Meth cooker, I finally succumbed to the reviews and cannot say enough about the series. Intelligent and stylish, the series portrays this underworld life as both perilous and addictive, while showing the crushing impact on the two families that we the viewer grow more and more involved emotionally with. Must be watched from the beginning, but watch out because each episode leaves you yearning to carry on to the next.

5.0 out of 5 stars Can I give 6 stars? Nov. 18 2013
By K. Gordon TOP 50 REVIEWER
What can be said about this spectacular saga that hasn't been said before? One of the very
few series that competes with the best films in history for achievement in cinematic storytelling.
Like a great novel slowly unfolding, it's funny, heartbreaking, incredibly tense, deeply disturbing.

A nebbishy high-school science teacher finds he has lung cancer, so becomes a meth dealer to
make money for his family before his death. Often visually stunning, with a breathtaking
performance by Brian Cranston in the lead, and great work from all the supporting roles,
this portrait of a man's decent into hell couldn't be much better, and it just grows darker and
more disturbing each year.

In a way, thematically it recalls "The Godfather I and II" in how that epic charts Michael's journey
from innocence to darkness, along with the moral murkiness of the endless drive for money
and success - how we lose ourselves, so that succeeding and having ever more becomes an
end in itself for which we will pay any price, rather than a route to happiness, trapping us in a
game we can never win.

The last season stays the course of and takes Walter's story to an ending that encapsulates
all the series was trying to do.

Kudos too, to creator Vince Gilligan to have the courage to end the show at just the right time
rather than string it out past where the story would bear. It may take a few episodes to get into,
but you owe it to yourself to try. This is powerful, important and utterly enthralling stuff.
