The best possible guide to starting a rescue program., Nov 1 1999
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Breed Rescue: How to Start and Run a Successful Program (Paperback)
Breed Rescue is an excellent source for anyone wishing to start a rescue or even small rescues looking for ideas. Early chapters tell you how to get organized, where to find volunteers, and how to get and manage funds. Then you learn where to find the dogs, how to handle health screening, use foster care, and adopt the dogs to the correct homes. Also covered are how to get and use publicity and to take advantage of all the Internet has to offer. Sample forms are included, and sprinkled throughout are pictures of rescued dogs.
So to all of you out there who really think you could set up and run a rescue program, I urge you to start with Sheila Boneham's book. It is the best possible guide I have found.

Breed Rescue, May 27 2000

After being involved with Breed Rescue for close to a year, I then found this book on breed rescue. It is well organized, succinct and, in my opinion, complete. There is so much to consider with rescue that it is easy to get lost in the activities. I am now recommending the book to others who want to become involved. To be well informed and have each person in rescue with a sense of the same goal and way of doing things helps enormously. Many thanks to the author who took the time to put together such a wonderful reference. I still refer to it from time to time.
