I purchased this book for my 7 year-old daughter. She read the book and proceeded to write her very first book report. The series of books is beautifully written and illustrated. The story gives some detail about different breeds of horses and incorporates a heartwarming story about a child's relationship with the horse. I am always amazed by the lessons a child can learn from caring for an animal. These books will not only peek a child's curiosity about horses but will help them develop independent reading skills.

My 6 year old daughter discovered two of the books in the Breyer Stablemates series last summer at our local library. Since she loves horses, she read them over and over. Now, just a year later, she has all the books in the series at home and continues to read them very often.Fancy is another great book in this series. It is a chapter book, but the chapters are short with text that's easy to read and understand. Each book in the series highlights a particular breed of horse, including some horse facts in the story and more info at the back of the book. The stories themselves are positive and heartwarming.
My daughter is asking me when the next book in the series will be coming out.

My granddaughter, who is three, wants this book read to her every night. If she could get someone to read it to her 5 or 6 times before going to bed, she still would not be tired of it. Her fourth birthday is coming up, and we're going to get her the other books from this series.
