Anna is on the run and becomes a bride.MALACHI STONE needs woman but not a wife. It sounds like home is deep in the Grand Canyon. Even I felt sorry for that cantankerous old mule. I loved the way that Anna was slipping under Malachi's emotional defenses. For a strong, powerful man he was surprisingly tender and had a strong love for his children. He was not about to lose them to their grandparents. The children melded the story into a moving love story and I was as surprised as Anna when Malachi's secret was revealed. You just wanted to love that man. And like Anna, I sure did not trust Malachi's neighbors. Ugh! Petit as Anna was, Malachi greatly admired her courage and he had a hard time fighting his attraction to her. A least they were headed in the right direction. Then, of course, that nasty sheriff Caswell had to show up. You will thoroughly enjoy this book.
