5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing....! Feb 25 2011

Of course, Colm Wilkinson has defined Jean Valjean and he does his usual stellar job here. For twenty years it's been hard for me to imagine anyone else measuring up to him in this role, let alone surpassing him. Then I saw the 25th Anniversay Concert and was captivated by Alfie Boe's performance, particularly his solo version of "Bring Him Home". Quite simply, it's one of the greatest vocal performances I have ever seen or heard. In this version four esteemed performers join to create a memorable version of this fabulous song. But what Alfie Boe does when it's his turn to step up to the mike can not be adequately described here. You simply must see it to appreciate the incredible talent of this man. And when the other three step away to let Colm deliver the final, haunting note, well, it just sends chills down the spine.....

5.0 out of 5 stars unprecedented, moving Feb 20 2011

What could be better than "Bring Him Home" sung by Colm Wilkinson?

The tune sung by not one, not two, but FOUR fabulous Jean Val Jeans, including the phenomenal Alfie Boe.

This was taken from the end of the 25th Anniversary Concert at 02. By the time they started singing, I was already literally speechless and half weeping half hysterical at the beauty and wonderment and grand scale of the proceedings....and then this...it put me on the floor.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to any lover of Victor Hugo, Les Miserables in any of its incarnations (OK, skip the one with Tony Perkins), or iconic music.

5.0 out of 5 stars Goosebumps Guaranteed Mar 12 2011

I was in tears after the first three notes. When Colm steps up to the microphone, I said to myself, "Ohhhh, he's going to sing THE SONG." Then you realize that it is going to be a quartet. At first, I was annoyed. I don't need to hear anyone else sing this song but Colm. But, I was WRONG. The arrangement is amazing. The vocal performances are outstanding. I am an Alfie Boe convert. You must listen to this. It is one of the best vocal performances you will ever experience.
