Soft-spoken offstage, Spears becomes someone else entirely in front of an audience: numerous costume changes, a plethora of filmed footage, awesome acrobatics, and a gigantic stage set create the ultimate triumph of visuals over music. During the encore, "Baby One More Time," rain drenches Spears, giving a born entertainer one final opportunity to leave her fans awestruck. The concert was broadcast live to four military bases, and Spears acknowledges the soldiers' service in the wake of the September 11 terrorist attacks. --Kevin Filipski
Never before has Britney performed so fearlessly, so confidently, and with so much energy and enthusiasm for her singing, her dancing, and her fans. Indeed, Britney gives her all in this concert: from bungee jumping to playing a jewelry box ballerina, from running through a row of fire trees to "singing in the rain," Britney is a one-woman explosion of talent. Plus, you'll love seeing Britney posing as a Janis Joplin wannabe in a comedy takeoff of a "Making the Band" documentary. The special effects are intense, the costume changes incredible; Britney Spears Live from Las Vegas takes the concertgoing experience to the next level. 90 minutes.

Yes, she's The Queen Of Lip-Sync,
By
This review is from: Britney Spears: Live from Las Vegas (DVD)
Ok, Is she a singer or what? "Live From Las Vegas" should be renamed "Lip-Sync From Las Vegas". This is a Concert, a MUSICAL, therefore you should be singing. I gave 2 stars because I have to admit it, she's hot all wet and there were a few FEW good acts... 3 is many.

Live From Las Vegas:The Dream Within A Dream Tour 2001-2002,
By Chad DeFeo "(ChandlerBingFan)" (Philadelphia, PA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Live From Las Vegas (VHS Tape)
In the late fall of 2001, Britney embarked on her third tour, The Dream Within A Dream Tour 2001-2002. I did see Britney on this tour twice: The first being on December 10th, 2001 and the second being June 28th, 2002. Both were here in South Philly. But this VHS and DVD televised concert was aired live on HBO when Britney performed at the GRAND MGM ARENA in Las Vegas on November 21, 2001.The show starts off with one of Britney's female dancers walking towards centerstage, wearing a short pink & white nightgown, carrying a lantern, while dungeon sounds are played. The dancer makes it to centerstage and says, Is It All That I See Or Seem But A Dream Within A Dream? She then descends to the bottom of the stage, as two large flames shoot up on the sides, as horrifying music is set off. On the back-drop screen, a golden pixie flies across it and makes it to the front and says, Have You Ever Had A Dream That Felt So Real That You Could Not Tell The Difference Between The Real World And The Dream World? He flies away, to reveal a peaceful paradise picture. He comes back and says, Which World Are You In Now? The screen then reveals a bunch of people telling their dreams until Britney floats by in a bubble, which zooms out into a video of Britney saying, Last Night I Dreamt Of This Very Moment When I Was Here With All Of You... And Now My Dream's Come True. The picture cuts off as a hard version of OOPS!... I DID IT AGAIN STARTS. Britney takes the stage, wearing a long-sleeved black half-top, black tasseled pants (an outfit similar to the outfit she wore in the dance sequences of the Stronger music video), complete with a long black Cape Coat, while chained to a huge platform, as she performed OOPS!... I DID IT AGAIN. No, she wasn't chained to the platform during the whole song, she came off of it when she started the second verse. She finishes up OOPS!... I DID IT AGAIN by saying, Ooh, I did it again! She falls backward, takes off the jacket and performs (YOU DRIVE ME) CRAZY. After (YOU DRIVE ME) CRAZY, she went for a costume change. Britney came out, wearing a brown/gold jumpsuit, to perform OVERPROTECTED. After OVERPROTECTED, Britney went back for another costume change. Jon Voight took the stage. He tells a story of a ballerina princess who was locked in her jewelry box until her true love set her free. After Jon Voight finished, a large jewelry box was wheeled out to centerstage. The band started playing a ballerina version of BORN TO MAKE YOU HAPPY. Britney came out of the box, elevating on a pedestal, wearing a white tank-top with rhinestones and a too-too. She sang the first verse and first chorus of BORN TO MAKE YOU HAPPY, until she started descending back into the box. Before she could disappear into the box, the front of it opened up. She takes off the too-too, puts on a movie-star-Marilyn-Monroe like coat, where the interior is the American Flag, to perform LUCKY. She started with the section where she says ISN'T SHE LOVELY THIS HOLLYWOOD GIRL? AND THEY SAY. She then sings the chorus, which leads into the bridge of the song. She then starts off with the first verse, second chorus, and bridge of SOMETIMES, with a thin white dress coat. She gets back into her box and is wheeled away as Jon Voight finishes the story. After the medley, Britney comes back out, wearing, a black tank-top, grey dress slacks, complete with suspenders, to perform BOYS. After BOYS, Britney grabbed a long black coat and hat, where both had pink and green paint splattered on it, to perform STRONGER. She finished up STRONGER, took off the hat and coat, and sat down next to her piano player, who was sitting centerstage, playing a nice little piece. Britney sits down and has a chat with her audience, which leads into a beautiful performance of I'M NOT A GIRL, NOT YET A WOMAN. She finishes I'M NOT A GIRL, NOT YET A WOMAN, as the back-drop screen shows Britney and her female dancers putting together a Janis Joplin wannabe band. They pen different old songs to cover, but can't find the right one until they come across I LOVE ROCK 'N ROLL. Britney then takes the stage, dressed in a purple jacket, blue shirt, and green jeans, to perform I LOVE ROCK 'N ROLL. She and her dancers are on this platform which elevates into the air. She comes down to the stage and performs WHAT'S IT LIKE TO BE ME. After performing WHAT IT'S LIKE TO BE ME, she comes across a huge back-drop screen and has a battle with a video alter ego version of herself as she vamps through LONELY. After LONELY, Britney took the stage, wearing a white, sparkling gown, to perform DON'T LET ME BE THE LAST TO KNOW. She takes another costume change after DON'T LET ME BE THE LAST TO KNOW. She comes back out as her and all her female dancers are dressed in Barbie-like outfits, to perform ANTICIPATING. After ANTICIPATING, she took off her Barbie outfit to reveal short tight green bikini top, yellow shorts, and green boots, to perform a jungle version of I'M A SLAVE 4 U. She finishes up I'M A SLAVE 4 U and says her good-byes. But she comes back out for one encore: ...BABY ONE MORE TIME, but I won't let that one out. Below is the tour's setlist. OOPS!... I DID IT AGAIN

This is THE BEST CONCERT OF ALL TIME!!!! she puts on the best show.. you don't need to be a britney fan to appreciate this spectacle! Its got fireworks, rain, fire, lights an amzing HUGE stage setup. the costumes are amazing, the dancing is WOW!!! This shows what britney is best at she is a born entertainer! What i also loved about it was that she remixed her older songs such as baby one more time, oops i did it again and made them much more enjoyable and they WENT OFF!!!! She has lots of energy and LOOKS HOT!! Her choreography is incredible and shows you what britney is really about!! Also inbetween the songs she has the background dancers dance along to club music which also adds to the energy of the show!!! I STRONGLY RECOMMEND this DVD to anyone who wants an uptempo, high energy, highly produced concert to watch. It is a MUST HAVE!!!!
