My Skill Level (so you can better understand my rating):
I have done well over a dozen Kakuro puzzle books. As such, I find myself enjoying Kakuro puzzles that are normally defined as 'Hard'. The 'Easy' and 'Medium' Kakuro puzzles normally found in the multi-level Kakuro books are far too easy and are actually very boring. I have not found a Kakuro puzzle book that I could not finish ... Yet !
My Personal Review of the "Brown Belt Kakuro: 150 Puzzles" book:
OK, now that you know my skill level, now I'll review the "Brown Belt Kakuro: 150 Puzzles" book. I found only a very few of the puzzles to be unchallenging. Most were perfect for my level. And some I found quite challenging, which I truly began to appreciate. So, if you want a bit of a challenge, and are somewhat at my current level, I would recommend the "Brown Belt Kakuro: 150 Puzzles" to you !

This is an excellent mid-level Kakuro book. For someone who's had some experience with Kakuro, the puzzles in this book range from slightly on the easier side to slightly on the mind-bending side in a steady progression from easy to hard. There are 150 puzzles with solutions. The first six puzzles are in 13x10 grids to get you warmed up. The rest are in 13x22 grids. There's a four-page introduction with solving tips and a page at the back that lists unique sums. I got hours of casual entertainment from this book over the course of three months. My favorite thing to do was see how much of a puzzle I could fill in before I had to start making notes. I'd love to see more books at this difficulty level. Highly recommended.

An exceedingly well produced book! I have purchased and enjoyed the entire Sudoku series, and am now working my way through this Kakuro series. When one pays for published puzzles, as opposed to downloading free puzzles, one expects well crafted, single solution, enjoyable puzzles. Not only does this publication meet the mark, it does so on eye-friendly, pencil-friendly paper, with a comfortable-in-the-hand binding. Admittedly, I'm a paper snob. I dislike newsprint as it clogs erasers and is difficult to read in low lighting. Puzzlewright has met all my expectations and preferences with this book, in an affordable and pleasing format. Well done!

I have found a lot of Kakuro books that are just not that challenging, or books that have 125 easy puzzles and 25 hard ones. I like that this series provides a consistent gradually increasing challenge.
