Better than a fried peanut butter and 'nanna sannich, Momma., May 27 2004
This review is from: Bubba Ho-Tep (DVD)
This is more than a fun comedy/horror flick--it is a meditation on the death of American legends...about the disposable nature of our attitudes concerning the aged, and the redemption one can find in "Taking Care of Business." Bruce Campbell deserved an Academy Award nomination. Better than a fried peanut butter and 'nanna sannich, Momma. I give it 4.5 stars out of 5.

Bubba Ho-Hum, July 6 2004
This review is from: Bubba Ho-Tep (DVD)
Though the lead actors are game as hell, the script and direction could only charitably be labelled "adequate". Crude, unpleasant, plodding, and repetetive, made tolerable only by a stellar turn by Bruce Campbell, and a lively performance from Ossie Davis (both of whom are FAR better than this material). The visuals and direction rely on cheap, gimmicky camera work, and high school drama-caliber lighting and sound. Blech.

Nice movie for a nap ~, July 3 2004
This review is from: Bubba Ho-Tep (DVD)
I have always loved Bruce Campbell's character and this movie is no different. But the overall feel and speed of the moive leaves quite a bit to be desired. I feel asleep 45mins into the story and began to doze in and out of sleep right through the rest of the movie as well. If watching old retired elderly people talk about their once glorious life and battle a cowboy looking mummy are your thing, maybe you can stay awake a little longer and actually enjoy this film.
