This book is written in true John Acorn style: easy to read, humourous, and Ian's illustrations are amazing. They are large, clear, detailed, making identification with specimens easy. I wish we had one of these books for every province. The local aspect makes the book very significant. I'm going to copy'n'paste this comment into the Butterflies of Alberta site as well since all the same comments apply. Really good value. My main focus with this purchase is to encourage our young grandchildren to develop their appreciation for bugs, butterflies, beetles, etc., while still being interesting at an adult reading level. Bugs of Alberta does it all. Now I'd just like to have John Acorns "Nature Nut" series on dvd!
