Product Description

Product Description

Accounting students must know how to develop, audit, and use accounting systems so the information contained within them can then be used by managers and decision makers. This textbook teaches students how to perform this role with Microsoft Access as the database tool. The book begins by explaining the Windows 98 environment; once students are comfortable with that operating system, they then receive an introduction to database principles and theory, and valuable hands-on experience in constructing accounting systems.

Book Info

Provides students the unique opportunity to play a central role in ensuring that the accounting systems they use, audit, and help design will deliver timely, accurate, and complete information. Softcover. CD-ROM included.

1.0 out of 5 stars A complete waste of time and [money]., Aug 19 2002
By
G.R. Holle (Denver, Colorado USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Building Accounting Systems Using Access 200 (Paperback)
This book is a tremendous disappointment. One would think that anyone with an interest in building accounting systems with Microsoft Access would already be familiar with the fundamentals of Access let alone the Windows Operating System. Yet the majority of this book dwells on Windows basics and Access skills that are perfunctory to anyone other than a completely new user.

You will be a good quarter through its slim 500 pages before accounting topics are even addressed. This book is remedial in both its understanding of Microsoft Access and Accounting Systems. Do not expect to actually build a real-world accounting application based on the limited information presented in this paperback.

If you are a serious developer or even just a power-user of Access do not waste your time even looking at this book. It is a complete waste of time and [money].
