Format: DVD
The perfect blend of three short stories....great acting and suspenseful. I recommend this movie for followers of Jack London or anyone who likes a movie with a twist (you don't even have to know the original stories.) This was a creative endeavor and well appreciated by my husband and I when we watched it.

If you like thought-provoking drama, then these films are for you. Based on strong Jack London stories, each one is distinct, but they are collected together because they work thematically well together. This DVD is more like an anthology of interesting works than a feature film, and is better for that. The action is well paced, though the script is wordy, the cinematography is well framed and crisply executed. An excellent debut from Sanzhar Sultanov. The acting is good, very subtle where it needs to be and not melodramatic at times when in other films it would have been. Again, some great debut performances. There is a dark richness worked through these stories, a bit like being told a ghost story next to a camp fire. At times, these films are absolutely spellbinding, with fascinating characters, and a very well drawn film world. I would be interested to know what Reverson has up its sleeve next.

Highly recommended.
