Excellent introduction,
This review is from: Business Intelligence For Dummies (Paperback)
This book is an excellent introduction to anyone who wants to know more about business intelligence. The book is written in plain English, it's really easy to understand even if your first language isn't English. The other good thing with this book is that you don't need to read the entire book to understand, you can just read the parts where you need more information about it. In addition inside the book you will find how to start your BI project.

Even if you are not working directly on a Business Intelligence project, this book is a must-read for all business analysts. The book is readable and correctly emphasizes the importance of quality requirements and analysis. Business analysts should always be thinking about better ways for their stakeholders to make decisions and run their organizations. Swain gives great insights and suggestions for requirements elicitation and analysis. He also explains the overall discipline at a level everyone should be aware of.

I work as a senior business systems analyst for a large corporation and have focused primarily in the area of Business Intelligence for about three years. I would recommend this book to the business analyst over the systems engineer.
