Product Description

If you have heart disease, arthritis or cancer, you have probably got calcification - one of the most widespread harmful conditions in existence, and found with diseases like osteoporosis and Alzheimers. Doctors have long known that something in our body misuses calcium to make us sick; they just haven't known why, or how to treat it. Until now. If you have never heard of calcification or don't know what it does, you will find crucial answers in this book, including medical science's recent discovery of a particle - a nanobacterium so small it challenges the very definition of life - that makes otherwise good calcium go bad, and which has also been discovered in other incurable diseases. Until recently, scientists didn't know that it existed or what it did. But, now they are beginning to understand what it is ...and how to treat it. If you are young and healthy, your own Calcium Bomb may already be ticking. The Good News: Many patients are improving with new treatment aimed at heart disease calcification. Will it work for arthritis, injuries, and some cancers where the time bomb also lurks? In easy-to-understand terms, this book explores the hotly contested evidence.

5.0 out of 5 stars Living with "The Calcium Bomb", Mar 19 2005
By
Patrick F. Walsh (Calgary, Alberta Canada) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This review is from: CALCIUM BOMB-OP (Hardcover)
I am living with 'the calcium bomb' in my body. My family did not live with it. My father had his first heart attack at 45, died at 51. My mother had her first heart attack at 30, died at 47. My kid brother, a superb athlete in the Red Sox farm system, had his first heart attack at 29 and died seven years ago at 54. I am 68 years old and in February of 2000 an angiogram revealed a 98% blockage in the main artery in the front of my heart, and an 85 % blockage in the main artery in the back of my heart. The doctor gave me 2 weeks max to face a massive heart attack and irreparable damage to my heart.
I am not a disinterested or merely curious reader of 'The Calcium Bomb," because I find its story to be a macrocosm of the microcosm of my own heart story.
Too late for my parents, but not quite so late for my brother, I investigated chelation therapy. Dr. Robert Willix, who had abandoned his heart surgery practice in favor of chelation, introduced me to chelation. After ten major heart interventions the surgeons of world-renowned heart hospitals of Boston felt my brother was too far gone to put on a heart donor list. They sent him home to die. With chelation therapy his life was extended for another five years-with quality: he coached his college baseball team to the NCAA division III championship game before dying peacefully in his sleep.
When I got tightness in my chest while exercising in November of 1999, because of my family history, I knew where I was headed. While waiting for my angiogram, I started 10 sessions of intravenous chelation therapy treatment. After a successful implant of 2 stents on February 8, 2000, I continued with 30 treatments of chelation therapy followed by a once monthly maintenance program.
My cardiologist was enraged that I was doing chelation therapy. He called me, "a damn fool," who was "throwing his money away" on an "unproven, untested method of treatment," a "snake oil operation." I told him I was following all his directions of medication, vitamins and anti-oxidants, diet, meditation, exercise, and life-style reform. Following implant of my stents, my cardiologist said, "You're cured." I took exception: "My blocked arteries are open, but what have we done to prevent the systemic calcification that is causing the blockage?" We agreed to talk about everything except chelation therapy, which I would pursue with my alternative family doctor, who is both a 'standard medicine practitioner' and a 'preventive medicine specialist.'
When the NanobacTX protocol, as described in the book, became available, my 'alternative' doctor suggested we try it. I have been on the NanobacTX protocol for over two years, and three CT scans of my heart have revealed, in independent evaluations, a 40% reduction of calcification in my heart. I am biking 10 miles a day and leading a full life in retirement.
This lengthy background will explain why I am so enthusiastic about "The Calcium Bomb." The struggle against the "standard medicine" establishment that I have lived through has been vindicated. This book presents an assessment of the 'calcification' problem by two highly qualified independent journalists. Their investigations have revealed an overview of the struggle to establish the validity of Chelation therapy. They set the calcification problem in its historical perspective. They are scrupulous to present a full discussion of the clashes in the development of this therapy, both between "standard" and "alternative" medicine, and within the chelation research community.
"The Calcium Bomb" shows that more and more, the standard medical world is beginning not only to take chelation therapy seriously, but better yet, is beginning to conduct the research and produce the studies and statistics that will bring this therapy into the mainstream. Untold numbers of suffering heart and cancer and diabetic patients could benefit. And health care costs could be cut beyond our wildest dreams. More and more mainstream practitioners are turning to chelation therapy as a safer, long-term, less intrusive treatment than angioplasties and surgical bypass. Of course, acute care is necessary in critical cases. I would not have been able to reduce my blockages in two weeks! For that I thank my cardiologist.
Would that this even-handed, comprehensive and accessible book had come along sooner for my family. With another CT scan in July I hope to see further progress.
That this book has come in time for me causes me to give it to my children, my family and my friends. I am deactivating the 'calcium bomb' in my body. I cannot recommend this book highly enough. The story it tells is for me "a matter of life and death." I can't help but believe this book will help so many others. See for yourself.

5.0 out of 5 stars Defusing the Bomb, Mar 19 2005

This review is from: CALCIUM BOMB-OP (Hardcover)
I am living with `the calcium bomb' in my body. My family did not live with it. My father died at 51, my mother at 47, and my kid brother 54.

When I got tightness in my chest while exercising in 1999, because of my family history, I knew where I was headed. Following implant of my stents, my cardiologist said, "You're cured." I took exception: "My blocked arteries are open, but what can we do to prevent the systemic calcification that is causing the blockage?"

The answer to that question is in "The Calcium Bomb."

My `alternative' doctor introduced me to the NanobacTX protocol, as described in the book, which reflects our own experience.

This book presents an assessment of the `calcification' problem by two highly qualified independent journalists. They construct an overview of the struggle to establish the validity of Chelation therapy. They scrupulously present a full discussion of the development of this therapy with its clashes between "standard" and "alternative" medicine.

I am deactivating the `calcium bomb' in my body. After some two years of NanobacTX therapy, three CT scans have revealed a 40% reduction of calcification in my heart. At age 68 I am biking 10 miles a day and leading a full life in retirement. I cannot recommend this book highly enough. For me it is "a matter of life and death."

5.0 out of 5 stars Calcification In Heart Disease & Much More, Jan 2 2005
By G. Reid - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: CALCIUM BOMB-OP (Hardcover)
This book is a must read if you wish to stay healthy around these issues. Learn about the impact of nanobacteria on our bodies and lives. This is an amazing story of medical investigation and scientific discovery. The discovery of nanobacteria and their impact on our health may lead to reduced amounts of heart disease in millions of people.

This excellent book provides new insights into how our bodies function. It has a long overdue focus more on prevention and less on crisis management. The bull-in-the-china-shop problem with healthcare has long been not enough focus on prevention. This is because the big money is made by drug companies and other medical providers by providing crisis intervention which is most often less effective than prevention and much more expensive.

"The Calcium Bomb" provides hope that in the future their can be less invasive surgery for heart disease. Finally, there is hope of solving the huge medical problem of abnormal calcium deposits in the body.

5.0 out of 5 stars A sharply profiled and highly necessary wake-up call, Dec 6 2004
By Midwest Book Review - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: CALCIUM BOMB-OP (Hardcover)
The Calcium Bomb: The Nanobacteria Link To Heart Disease & Cancer is a breakthrough work by journalist Douglas Mulhall and biological engineer Katja Hansen. The two experts and collaborators have tirelessly labored to present their up-to-date findings that the root cause of heart disease and "hardening of the arteries" may not be excess fat, but rather a microbiological infection that can be treated and cured without the necessity of surgical intervention. convincingly researched for the medical community and accessibly written for the non-specialist general reader, The Calcium Bomb is a sharply profiled and highly necessary wake-up call advocating a re-evaluation of contemporary medical practices concerning this deadly and wide-spread cardiac condition.
