What can one say about the CBC. That it's a bloated monster? That it is thoroughly biased toward the very liberal end of the political and cultural perspective? That it acts as if it were the broadcasting god to which all should kneel? That it can't be trusted to manage its own employees appropriately. This book uncovers the despicable and surprising things that the CBC has done. And yet it like to think it has moral authority to criticize others. Read this and cry!

I give it 4 stars and not 5 because the book is sometimes rough and disjointed here and there. But still worth the money to get yourself steamed over this nightmare of a place.

Brian Lilley does an excellent job exposing how the CBC wastes our $1.2 billion every year. Every taxpayer in the country who cares about where their tax dollars are going needs to read this. They waste our money spin the stories to suit their own agenda and they do not think they should be accountable to us the taxpayer. This book tells you every thing you need to know.

The "We Vote CBC" - signs make me really wonder - don't these people know how wasteful this whole organization has been and continues to be?! Not accountable for the public money they are so graciously granted? Getting away with waste? Bad policy.....

Brian Lilley at his best. A rare expose of a malignant Canadian institution which has long outlived its relevance, yet continues to devour $1.4 billion a year in public expense.

Brian Lilly has written an accurate and well documented insight into the shenanigans that have been going on at the CBC for years. I agree with his opinion that they are hopelessly and unabashedly biased to the left and it is a crime that an income tax funded national broadcaster does not provide balanced reporting of Canadian and world news. Brian shows that CBC purposely slant news reporting by omitting coverage of events that they do not agree with such as the huge Annual March For Life. I also agree with Brian's assessment that the CBC should be privatized and allowed to sink or swim on their
merits which CBC will tell you are outstanding and that they are holding the country together with their marvellous
programming. What a joke CBC is and Brian Lilly has exposed them masterfully.

I hope all CBC lovers read this book and are enlightened as to how embarrassing the CBC is as a national broadcaster.
Just think of the good that could be done, perhaps for our native population that the CBC, in my opinion, recently miss-reported on, with the billion plus dollars wasted on it yearly.

While not any great work of literature, Brian Lilley's CBC expose does present the other side of Canada's publicly funded broadcaster - the sleazy side, the corruption and the self-preservation above all else motive behind Mother CBC's agenda. Written before the latest scandals, Lilley could not dream up the CBC stories that became public knowledge in 2014 like the conflict of interest with Peter Mansbridge, Rex Murphy and Amanda Lang, the criminal sex scandal of Jian Ghomeshi and the relatively minor but telling criminal sexual harassment story about Montreal Radio Canada producer M. Z. Lilley was onto this story before his time.

This book was well researched and written. I would recommend that it be in every Library in Canada.
Also recommend that it be a "must read" for all students at the High School level.
This cumbersome corporation has lived a full life and now it is time to gracefully retire.
There are plenty of Radio and TV producers who do a great job without becoming a tax burden on the average Canadian.
Thanks for the opportunity to comment and also many thanks to the author, Brian Lilly
