Review

"Getting down to brass tacks on Networking fundamentals is no easy task. There's just so much to learn and to assimilate. Ric Smolenki's book goes a long way to helping to introduce people to a very complex world. I can't wait to see the latest edition and use it to help my students." - Chris Ward, Sr. Technical Instructor

3.0 out of 5 stars A class member from Charlottesville Feb 17 2000

This book is just o-kay. I took the first semester of two with this book (Kelly "cannonball" Cannon was the instructer ). You will still have to buy another book to learn what you will need to know for the test. The book covers tpoics that aren't CISCO objectives, and there are many typos. I also bought the book the two books by Todd lammle. They were more in depth, and had there own faults. Good luck

5.0 out of 5 stars Great! Because I have no computing backgroung Aug 10 2000

I looked around the book store and started with this book ONLY because the others were to advanced for me to start with. I needed to get my feet wet first and this book did just fine. I now have another more advanced book that I am studing and I am happy I started out slow and easy. That is just my kind of pace. Nice writing styles and down to earth.

2.0 out of 5 stars It was required for school May 15 2012
By Angel Jenkins - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Overall, this has been my least favorite textbook. It is very dry and was hard to read. There are typo's throughout the book. I had to use other sources numerous times to get more information about topics the book should of covered more in depth. I wouldn't recommend it if you are going for your certification.
