About the Author
Jhong S. Lee has nearly 40 years of experience in satellite communication systems, signal processing, electronic warfare, and spread-spectrum system analysis. He is president and CEO of J.S. Lee Associates, Inc., Maryland, an R&D firm specializing in DoD components and wireless communications systems for second generation digital cellular and PCS systems. The author of more than 70 technical articles and professional papers, he earned his D.Sc. in electrical engineering from The George Washington University, Washington, DC. Dr. Lee is a Fellow of the IEEE. Leonard E. Miller is vice president of research at J.S. Lee Associates, Inc., where he specializes in the analysis of military electronic support and communication systems. He has more than 30 years of experience in signal detection and electronic countermeasures, signal processing design, and electronic defense systems. Dr. Miller has published dozens of technical papers and has served as a reviewer for the IEEE. He earned his Ph.D. from the Catholic University of America, Washington, DC.

A perfect book for both newbie and guru,

This book not only clearly presents the CDMA/spread spectrum theories, but also structurally analyzes the reasons behind IS-95 standard from the system design perspective. As pointed by the other readers, this book is self-contained. However, if you already had a decent communications engineering background, you might find some parts of book are redundant. HIGHLY recommended!! A perfect CDMA book for both newbie and guru.
