Childhood favourite May 18 2014

The town children are ill so get shipped off to their Uncle and Aunt's farm to get better.
I loved this book so much growing up as a kid. Getting to see the kids go from unhealthy town children to hearty farm children.
I still have my copy from 30 years ago although it is a little worse for the wear now.
Tammylan and Scamper are my two favourite characters. I always wanted a wildman to tell me about nature and a pet squirrel to sit on my shoulder.
Enid Blyton wrote in a different time so while it's a little sexist in places that's just how the world was back then. It doesn't stop it being a wonderful place for the imagination of a child to wander.
This is one of my favourite Enid Blyton books of all time!! July 20 2005

I luv this book, as i adore all animals, and especially wild ones. In this book, three chldren are sent to their aunt and uncles farm, to have a break from the city. Once there they do all manner of things, including tracking down Tammylan, a wild man, to whom all the wild creatures come to when they are ill, or in danger.

This book is fabulous, and should never be underestimated.

My favourite book as a child (60 years ago). Bought it for grandkids. They love it, despite it being horribly dated. Arrived much quicker than I expected. Postage cost more than the book, but then it did have to come from USA.
P.S. Really not keen on Enid Blyton, but this book still works for me!
