About the Author
Growing up in Beijing, China, Angela relocated to Dallas, Texas in 1986 to finish high school. In 1989, Angela moved to Canada where she studied at McGill University in Montreal. Shortly after her graduation from McGill (with a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance/Management Information Systems), Angela enrolled at the University of Texas at Arlington and obtained her Master of Professional Accounting in May 1994.
In June 1994, Angela joined one of the Big 4 accounting firms in Canada. A Washington State silver medalist on the U.S. uniform CPA exams (November 1994), Angela was promoted to tax manager in 1998 and then senior international tax manager in 2000. Angela was a practice leader for the firm's U.S. corporate compliance group in Vancouver from 2000 to 2007. She also presented U.S. corporate and multi-state tax planning and compliance strategies at various tax conferences including the CITE (Council for International Tax Education) Conference.
Since 2008, Angela has devoted most of her time to writing and publishing accounting career and professional development books, as well as providing consulting services to private enterprises and other professionals.
